New Fed Ships Are Ugly

Is it just me or are the new fed and sci ship that are coming out look really ugly. Even, the fed dyson ship is ugly. It seems like the designers are out of touch with what a beautiful ship is.

    Appearance is a subjective thing. What one person likes another hates. CBS clearly liked the appearances enough to approve their use. If we all only liked the same things it would be a boring world.
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    I wish there was a way to "thumbs up" this post, as its the absolute truth. I, for one, find the new cruiser design to be hideous. However, the Sci ship design makes a certain amount of sense in my mind, and I find the escort to be a brilliantly elegant evolution of the Defiant. :)

    Although I know you're right cosmic I would still like to weigh in on this subject...they're fugly. :D

    I think the Eclipse is growing on me. The Scryer... No, not really. The Phantom. Well, it's a Defiant-like ship. But not a Defiant.
    The colors/materials are unusual.

    I hope we'll see some more standard ships again, too, but for a new type of ship with a special role, maybe the new ones aren't so bad.

    Cryptic - We've seen the error of our ways and have decided to only use canon ships. To that end we have also decided to wind the in game time back to TOS era. There will only be three ships to get...The connie, the rom warbird and the KDF battlecruiser.

    The shapes are okay (I think the different pictures they used today, with less cinematic glare, helped), but the skins are still wrong. May have to dig out the MACO shield just on principle.

    Can't say I like the looks of them myself.

    That fact alone is a significent factor in my buying decision.

    I'm going to be looking at it a lot, if it doesn't say Star Trek to me loudly enough, I'm not interested.

    Okay, seriously, this is how many threads on this topic now? I know for a fact there's an active one down in the fed ships forum.

    (For the record, I agree that except for the Guardian-class they're all fugly. And even the Guardian needs to lose the TRON lines and blue paint.)
