I found this on my drive earlier today. Drk wrote it, back on the old Persistent Foundry website before it shut down. In case anyone decides they want to be STO filmmakers, here it is.
NOTE: I make no claim for the content in this document. Drk wrote it himself. I just happened to have it copied down and saved. Thank drk, not me.

Still trying to work out pathing, does anyone know of a guide somewhere? (Text based not vid.)
This is years ago, so my memory is a little fuzzy. I recall doing a lot of playing around with the interface to get the hang of how the camera system works. I do remember that it differs based on the map you're in (ie, your axis, left/right and forward/back, are different based on the map).

In that tutorial, Dennis mentioned that custom NPCs don't show up in demo recordings. Is this still the case, and does that apply to custom-reskinned mobs too? I'm thinking of making trailers for my two Foundry series, but they both use a lot of custom NPC costumes for contacts and reskinned mobs (especially my just completed Valley of the Shadow trilogy). It probably wouldn't be worth my while to make trailers if the NPCs are going to be either invisible, or revert to their original skins, which would look out of place and confuse viewers once they actually play the missions.

Yes, any costume created in the Foundry's costume editor will not display in demo record. However, if you reskin an NPC to a different stock NPC costume, those are fine.
There is a trick where you can take to a costume from a character one demo record file (say a recording of a player) and reassign that costume to an NPC in another demorecord file. Unfortunately, I don't know the process well enough to to describe it here, but hopefully someone can describe it better.
