Trek Lore missions

As much as I love a good original story (and there are quite a few out there in Foundry land), I'm always a sucker for missions that follow up on established Trek lore or continues a story idea left behind in one of the original TV episodes or movies that was never re-visited officially.

Two Foundry missions that have my attention in this way are "Children of a Lesser God" by Ashka_Neris and "Missing" by Wahoosleg. Both of these, while separate stories, continue the saga of V'Ger from TMP. Both are very faithful to the source material and are must-plays for fans of ST: TMP.

At least one more mission has you returning to the infamous spacelab Regula I, birthplace of the Genesis Device. Another drops you smack dab into battle alongside the historically doomed 7th Fleet from DS9's Dominion War.

It's missions like these, taking cues from famous episodes or films, that really catch my eye.

Are there any other missions out there that you all have played that use characters, events, plot threads left behind by previously seen shows or movies?

Dear Khreg... you can take a couple from me...

    "Sons of Organia"

that's the follow up to the classic TOS episode "Errand of Mercy" ... there you found explanations on the sudden disappearance of the Organians after the treaty that bring their name... suffice to say that in this mission they return on the galactic scene bigtime...

    and my newest effort:

"The Caitian Gambit - Part 1 of 2"
There you can experience The Motion Picture rebooted into Caitian sausage... in short you will have to aid a Starfleet unit with a full Caitian complement against a V'Ger clone.... plus there is an additional story trail depicting an harsh conflict between the Caitian commander of the ship and a Founder shapeshifter mob...

You mention the Regula lab seen in ST - TWOK... there is another mission of mine there,

    "The Mutara Legacy" ...

there is no Regula lab, but I guessed there was a secret space facility in the Nebula where the Protomatter was synthesized using exotic particles of the Nebula itself... there is a final battle in the Nebula resembling the one at the end of TWOK...

    I've got several.

On the KDF side I have [HoloHistory]Klach de Kel Brakt, [HoloHistory]Caleb IV, and [HoloHistory]Korma Pass.

These tell the story of three famous historical battles mentioned on DS9.

On the Fed side I have Cold Winds that continues both the Breen FE series from STO and one of the Trek films (don't wanna spoil it). I have Over There, which follows up on the Mirror Universe and Somewhere in Time, a short story which takes you back in time to the Dominion War.

Don't have a Klingon toon just yet, but perhaps after I get bored playing Starfleet.

Played and enjoyed Cold Winds back in July. Actually liked your story better than the Trek story it continues. :D

The others sound promising. Will take them up soon. Just recently did a Mirror story and a time-travel/Dominion story so I want to have a few more unrelated adventures in between. Excellent suggestions!

Actually , If i understood the rules correctly, it's not the use of the established characters in and of themselves that is prohibited, but purposely making them to where they resemble the actor/actress that portrayed that character.

    Ah, ok.

Now that you mention it, I did play a mission where I interacted with Flint. And no.....Didn't look much like the original actor at all.

This is essentially correct. It is against the EULA to use the likeness or real name of any real person, Trek actor or otherwise.

Just played a great one last night that takes place on Argelius II from "Wolf in the Fold". It's entitled - appropriately enough - "Treasure of Argelius" by Captain.Hunter.

You won't find any of the characters or plotlines from that episode, but the society is still the same hedonistic, peaceful one from the TOS episode. The main city on the planet may or may not be the same where Scotty had his spot of trouble - it's never made clear - however the place is fleshed out like we've never seen before. It's been almost 200 years since, so it naturally looks a bit more advanced (Think of Bespin's Cloud City) at least in the daylight.

By night however, Captain Hunter takes you right back into the old episode with layers of intriguing mist, dark alleys, and tension, tension, TENSION.

Anyhoo, just wanted to share that. Was nice to visit such a noted world in the Trek canon and have a great mission to boot.
