Some things I feel need to change

1. Skill tree

Most of the skills are unused (starship batteries, starship sensors, et ceterra) either because they are useless/no practical purpose or do not work (insulators)

There are also too many skill points. Most people only use 3, 6, or 9 points in each skill, and the amount "fine tuning" you can do for skill points is not necessary.

Many of the skills are redundant. You don't need a skill for overall warp core power, then a skill for each individual power setting. You don't need separate skills for weapon damage, hit, crit, and specialization.

In my opinion the skill tree could easily be reduced to about 5 skills a tree, with a lot less clicking per skil. Maybe just 2 or 3 levels of each skill.

2. Boff abilities

There are simply too many, and again most go unused because they aren't viable endgame (the sci e-war abilities, extend sheilds, most attack pastern skills that aren't beta).

I don't think you need multiple skills that do the same thing, maybe just 1 shield healing skill and 1 hull healing skill, and one single ability for debuff/HoTs and so on. I haven't worked out what all can be condensed, but I know we don't need 3 seperate hull heal abilities (HE, AtSIF, ET) and 4 shield abilities (ST, EpTS, TTS, and TT)

I shouldn't need 3 full action bars to play a game, and people are saying they want a 4th for DR coming up... I'm sure we can reduce it down to 1 or 2. This is also a huge problem for UI cluttering.

3. The "crew alive" system

This seems to not do anything and is completely ignored by everyone

4. Balancing of weapon types

Cannons are unused, and DBBs are virtually unused. Why are there BOTH DCs and DHCs, when everyone will just go for the DHCs which are better?

99% of the high DPS builds are either A2B or DHC tacts. I think this is because it was assumed there should be some linear relationship between Firing arc and DPS, and people obviously just went for the 2 extremes that were most effective, when in my opinion DBBs should be the highest DPS/power drain in the game since fall in the middle of the tradeoff.

5. Consoles

Again, tons of unused or unnecessary consoles. No one should ever use a Starship Sensor Probes Mk 12. I feel cryptic has acknowledged this with all the fleet consoles, but I think they need to go back and fix all the regular ones too.

Limit the number of universal console slots, reduce tact console slots.

most people only use tact consoles for damage boosting, and a general rule is that you shouldnt have more than 2-3 ability consoles.

A neat idea might be to combine weapons, boffs, and consoles. A sci boff has a sci console slot which modifies his specific abilities. Similarly you could make it so one console influences only certain weapons, which would make a lot more weapon setups viable.

    1. Skill tree is fine, it's a trap system. Use my skill tree for optimization.

    2. Go pvp...there's only a handful of useless skills. everything else is at least viable.

    3. Been near useless forever. Was awesome when the adapted maco set was bugged. Would actually heal a noticeable amount

    4. Everything is viable (minus mines). You can make a turret or torpedo build do 6k dps which is more then enough to do content. let people fly their preferred aesthetics

    5. Ability consoles are gimmicks. And I agree that some consoles should be forgotten or have a bigger impact, but overall the system is fine.

    Cheers
    Chive on and prosper, eh?

    Nerf is OP, plz nerf
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

I call it, the Stoutes paradox.

    1. Skill tree

Maybe u do another char and start learning again

    2. Boff abilities

If u want no choice fine, but let me to have as many Options as possible

    3. The "crew alive" system

It's not optimal but u see a big difference if u have a full ody Crew or all are dead

    4. Balancing of weapon types

Again let me have as many Options as possible, and sure u can do 10k dps in Invected with a single cannon ody

    5. Consoles

With ur last Point i think this game is to complex for u - maybe do some easier stuff like angrybirds
nice u wasted so much time in your sig - i do not see it anyway :)
