Delta Fail: Pillaging of Your Wallet Pack

Im sorry but honestly since day one of this game its been a constant up and down turn and it seems to be turning for the worst. When I came back from a stent of not playing this game I got the Romulan Xpac and was not impressed to say the least and with the fronting of this new Xpac at a whopping $125USD I just want to put head down in my hands and sob. The ships for one, for the feds, look like garbage. It honestly looks like there was some type of spaceship gang bang orgy between Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek and Galaxy Quest. They don't even resemble federation ships except for the one that closely resembles the Ambassador Class. Whoever is behind designing the starships needs to be fired, they look atrocious.
I just hope that sometime in the future that the guy behind Star Citizen gets an IP for making a trek game, with him at the helm STO would end almost instantly. Star Citzen is a prime example of what Star Trek online should have been...

If you don't like the ships, then you have no reason to buy it anyway. So why would you care how much it costs?

I think someone needs to come up with another car analogy...ohh ohh i have one!!!

So a car dealer salesman comes up to me and says hey you want this brand new car for free? i say sure, but whats the catch? no catch just take it and go. Ahh sweet! hey can i get those cool looking rims like on that car over there? dealer says sure but it will cost you $1500. What?!?! 1500!!! that's highway robbery! or more like car dealership robbery! you know what i'll just take my free car and leave. Never have i seen somebody try to take advantage of me like that...grumble grumble

so wait, what were we talking about again?

I think the designs are cool, and if their names are any judge... the reason they stand out. these ships might have been designed for use specifically by Starfleet intelligence, thus wouldn't need the heavier armored/thicker looks of traditional starfleet ships, and take the more angular approach of current stealth tech ships.

While Im not a fan of the aesthetics chosen for these ships the 125 theyre asking for is rather cheap considering the value of whats in the pack.

Who's forcing you to spend your money anyways?

Last I heard, I owned mine, and decided what it would do.

You think STO is bad for spending money, Star Citizen is far worse. With the Delta Rising operations pack, I get 8 ships for $125 or $15.63 per ship. Star Citizen ships cost between $45 and $325 and it is possible to lose the ship if you forget to buy insurance.

That was my first thought, isn't this a much better deal than the romulan pack?

True - BUT in Star Citizen you CAN be on the Bridge of your ship; and have others (online players or NPCs) in multi-crewed ships run and control ship consoles and functions as the ship itself travels through space (once the game has completed development and the 'Persistent Universe' server is available of course).

The Constellation Aquila costs $325 in their store. Since the game hasn't launched yet, then there is a very good chance of there being more expensive ships.

While Star Citizen might be better at some things than STO, its main competitor is Eve not STO. Eve and Star Citizen are both sandbox style games while STO is more story driven.

Why do people complain about the price of something they don't have to buy?

To the OP i agree with you. But really don't sweat this. Just don't buy it. I'm not going any where near these t6 ships. Only way i would have one is if you can earn it at lvl 60 as a ship reward. I'm just going to upgrade my Galaxy X and Ambassador that's it. And if i can't complete the new content with these ships then i'm gone from this game. Which it looks like i might do because i hear the new npc's are going to have abilities that you only can counter with t6 ships. And if true i look at this as crypitic forcing its player base to spend real money on gear to compete. And only sucker's will buy into that.

Price looks reasonable. But so long as they're not publishing any stats for them (weps, the infamous new boff slot, etc),

I'm sorry but I have to respond. The Game itself is actually the culprit. Because if you want to stay viable next to everyone else in PVE an PVP you preaty much have to buy some stuff. Or you can be the galaxys hobo and do nothing but stand around ESD and troll ppl for Ecs. I've actually seen that.
