well after reading what little info they have provided about the new ships it seems all the cry babies on the fed side that have been begging for cloak have gotten their wish. atleast 3 of the 4 have cloak. no idea about the 4th one.
and we kdf who have had cloak all along get a raptor that only has cloak just like the feds. whats up with that.

Though the complaints will flow about, " QQ these ships are ugly. " Well, thats why they gave you cloaking device i guess. To hide it if you think its an eye sore.
But well, i can see the mobs throwing confetti in the air. Next thing will be the demands to have cloaking console usable on all ships.
I will say I do plan on buying the two KDF ships to support the KDF though. After all, what better way to hopefully get more than to do something like that.
After reading about the consoles, I figured you would get them.

Yep, Cryptic's got a plan.
the console for the raptor sounds like a clone of the bortas console cannon. you think they could have come up with something new like maybe a proprietary Torpedo tube or a center mount vertical weapons mount for torps, missles or 360 beams to be mounted in . something unique or requiring a little thought.
We KDF are portrayed as the militaristic war mongers why are we out gunned buy refugees and explorers?

and the console probably has a long cooldown like the auto cannon making it a one use deal if you even bother with it. and all this on a ship that does not have battle cloak. sounds like this is the ship that needs it more than the battle cruiser. but what do i know ,
To be honest Lucho, I don't care an iota about the consoles. They could make my ship shoot rainbows and teddy bears when activated, and I wouldn't care. The point is that I want to support the KDF side.
Hah, yeah, no kidding there VD. I look forward to the threads on how Feds will STILL die to KDF de-cloaking attacks even with that.
the bortasqu was promoted nearly identically, and we saw how that turned out.
i reckon 4/3 with a 3min cd bort console. 5 tac consoles if we are super lucky.
the use of the phrase 'cloaking device' is intriguing. they used the same phrase when describing the t6 fed ships, which makes me wonder if this 'device' is actually integrated (requiring no console slot), and if the defiant/avenger 'device' is going to get the same treatment...
are they going about redefining 'cloaking device' to mean 'integrated cloak'? or is this raptor going to have to sacrifice a console slot for basic cloak?

with our luck, yes and still give up what raptors lose compared to escort... and cyptic will be clueless why we''re mad... I may be a little bitter about feds getting integrated cloak on 3 of 4 new ships.

There is a video podcast where Al Rivera explained why didn't release the fleet Guramba before X2 and there he announced the new kdf T6 raptor with 5 fore weapon's slots and he also said that kdf won't be happy with it.Oh and finally started laughing.
Since then I tried to think what could be wrong with that new 5 fore T6 raptor and now I am waiting to see the data and see how it compares with new T6 fed escort .
Until now it seems that it doesn't have the new boff ability (I hope I am wrong ) so for me it is kind of a T5FU ship + fifth grade of mastery.

Personally, I don't think it will be a good idea to compare them - I get the impression they're different kinds of ships. The Phantom and Faeht are both Intel attack ships(probably 4/3 'escorts') with Active Sensors and a Heavy Lance. The MaHa is more of a T6 Kumari.
The Qib is the KDF Intel ship, while the Romulans get their D'deridex MkII/Aelahl as their non-Intel T6. If anything, compare the Qib to the Eclipse and the Phantom to the Faeht. The MaHa doesn't have a counterpart - Fed or Rom.

Cryptic's Federation aren't explorers. They're bloodthirsty militaristic sociopaths. The KDF is here to prevent them from assimilating the Quadrant.
Hmmm.....I'm probably hoping and reading into it too much, but wouldn't it be possible for the ship to have a special weapon in adition to the special console? Like the Regent has the wide arc quantum torpedo? So maybe, if we're lucky, the ship comes with some unique torpedo launcher in adition to the nose cannon. Now that'd be brutal.

Thank you Shpoks. I plan on sticking around here in STO until they either do something so incredibly stupid I can't stand it anymore, or force me to use Arc (at which point instead of being forced, I'd simply quit and never come back). And in the mean time I thus plan on supporting the KDF however I can.

I was happy with the T6 Raptor.
I was happy with the T6 Battlecruiser.
BUT, I expected a T6 BoP.
I would be happy if it was exchanged for either the Raptor or BC (maybe the Raptor).
Having a BoP at launch makes much more sense.
Being more Fed oriented maybe clouded the Devs' judgement...which isn't a shock.

I'd love it if there was a game that allowed you to choose whatever ship you wanted, equip it how you want it, etc... instead of buying a packaged ship already set up and hence limited by a third party's vision for said ship. Surely that would make a ton of more cash for Cryptic then how it is now.

and they wonder why the kdf does not make as much money for them and the playerbase is lower.
we dont have much to buy. when these ships come out thats two items to buy and nothing else for kdf. and thats only if one of the ships is not a grind to get ship like the dyson ship was.
so how can they make money from us if we have nothing to buy? and why would new players play KDF other than just liking Klingons or whatever. since the feddy bears have all the stuff .
A real "twin torp" mechanic ship for the KDF with an advanced battle cloak would have make a great deal of sense.
As for what the devs may or may not say or do about KDF. I take it all with a very big grain of salt. To many times of them not even meeting their own hyperbole. Don't trust 'em anymore.

Ahh my fellow warrior, age must be upon you and dulling your eye sight. There are in fact TWO raptors currently available for purchase from those Ferengi imitating Humans known as Cryptic.
The first is the powerful SuQob mounting the Bio-Neural warhead capable of laying waste to our enemies with its mighty impact or even its simple point defense weapon.
The second is cunning Puyjaq which is equipped with a special Graviton Pulse Generator which allows her crew to overtake and eliminate those cowards who would flee from us.
I would recommend you have your eyes inspected by a medic before some petaQ of an Earther or one of their shuVak Romulans stab you in the back, such a death would only lead to Gre'thor.
Hell some one has to fight the injured.

I can tell you that if the MaHa Raptor really has brutal forward firepower as advertised, which to me means at least 5 forward weapon slots + the nose cannon and at least 5 tactical consoles, than this is all I need to hunt enemies down, especially escorts and warbirds. If they lose engines they wont move and them not moving for a few seconds is all I need to send them to Gre'thor with such firepower under my command.

Yeah, pass on that. The only one in the bunch that actually looks like something the Federation would use is the Guardian-class (which coincidentally is the one that doesn't cloak), ergo it's the only one I have any interest in using on my Fed.

The Tron Lines and even the art guys use that term are to make up for the complete lack of windows on these things. All the Fed Intel ships and both the KDF Intel BC and Romulan Intel Warbird have the same art design. Yet the MaHahaha Raptor has Windows as does the Guardian and Romulan WarCruiser (Warbirds are escorts do you think it will catch on?)
Look at all the Intel ships, no Windows, that's why they have the Tron Lines.
The Federation will be getting a normal Federation style Sci and Escort. I only hope that we get a Normal Battle Cruiser and a Intel Raptor as well as a pair of BoPs and a Carrier. As for the Romulans I don't understand their ships enough to make suggestions for them. Yes I'm asking for 7 KDF ships to their 6 Fed ships, because I know that the next ships will be all Fed.
With the Romulans you have a variety of Escorts, some with Universals, Some with off Career Lt.Coms, than you have the Ha' line which seems to have shoehorned an Escort, Sci Vessel and Cruiser into 3 ships that shares parts with each other. And Technically their Multi Vector Haakona appears to be part of the Ha' line. It's like they meant to flesh it out and never got round to it, maybe by the time they where ready and all those Rom ships got bumped up to T6.
The biggest request I have for future Klingon ships is fairness, the Fleet Qin isn't just bad because it's based on the bugged Raptor it's inferior to almost every other Fleet Escort in the Game. the other one with 4 Tac Consoles is the Fed Heavy Escort Carrier and that does have a Fighter bay to make up for it.
The Fleet Aquarius, Fleet Escort, Fleet Mogai & Fleet T'Varo also only have 4 Consoles. The T'Varo does have EBC and the Mogai has a lot of hull and Battlecloak, if the Fleet Qin had Battlecloak I could see why they gave it 4 Tac consoles. With every other Fleet Escort the Feds have why would you pick the Aquarius or the Escort (Saber).
If I ask you a question it is not an insult but a genuine attempt to understand why.
