How will your toons greet "Delta Rising?"

This thread is for everyone but RPers are my target. When the new expansion comes out what ship will you use, and why? What will be your story up until it happens?

I myself will probably try DR in a tier 5 common mirror vor'cha fresh from the box, might even have that fresh targ smell. Or I may be ballsy and use my cell ship. After completing the first mission or two I will probably upgrade a few to t5u and purchase a kdf ship even if I do not use them I want to continue to support my faction.

    Carry on as normal.

DR will really only have adverse effects on PvP, PvE will carry on just fine, no need to move away from T5s or Mk XII gear for that.

As all 5 of my chars have T5 c-store or fleet ships i will probs upgrade them. ive got 5400 zen saved up at the moment. I might get a new T6 depends on there stats i would love a kdf sci ship as the ones out at the moment dont interest me dyson a load of TRIBBLE so my kdf sci flys a fleet kar'fi.

I need to see the new ships layout before i make up my mind what im buying when ex2 comes out.

As is, I already use all Lockbox/Lobi ships, and I don't see that changing in the foreseeable future. Granted, I will upgrade my ships, but that is about it. As for my ground gear, I already spent months on each character, so their gear will also stay as is. In short, nothing will change.

I know the feeling. I don't grind. I refuse to grind. And that is especially true with something like Reputation. The only way I touch Reputation is during the Winter or Summer events, when I can let the parrots or epohhs do all the work for me while I sit back, and enjoy the festivities. So if Delta Rising does (and most likely will) add another Reputation, it will have to wait until the Wonderland.

At this point, I simply do not know. There simply hasn't been enough information released for me to decide what I'm going to be doing with my KDF toons in the least. Course, I'm figuring that I'm going to be deleting my KDF-aligned Rom toons - just do not see how I'll be able to keep up with both KDF and Rom ships at this point (along the lines of how I deleted all my Feds at the end of last year and did the big reroll).

I'm kind of hoping Cryptic changes their mind about the way they are going to be doing the T5-U upgrades.

Right now, my 7 KDF characters are flying the following:

    B'rel
    Mirror Qin
    Mogh
    Guramba
    Varanus
    Marauder
    Kar'Fi

No Fleet ships. Heck, the Marauder and Guramba do not even have that option. The Mirror Qin is the easiest, because I've been asking for a Zen Raptor forever...so it will be natural to move that character into whatever the T6 Raptor is.

Cause I didn't necessarily pick those ships for any reason other than...

    Raider
    Raptor
    Battle Cruiser
    Destroyer
    Support Vessel
    Flight-Deck Cruiser
    Carrier

    ...as simple as that, lol.

Which is also along the lines of what I did with the species for the captains of those ships as well as I could.

    Varanus...Gorn captain.
    Marauder...Orion captain.
    Guramba...Nausicaan captain.
    Mogh...I decided on Klingon.
    B'rel...I went with Ferasan.
    Mirror Qin...I went with Lethean.
    Kar'Fi...somehow ended up Joined Trill.

Honestly, if I had wanted to go more the min/max route - they would have all been Nausicaans. As is, all their BOFFs are Nausicaans.

But with those ships, I'm nowhere near getting any of those that can go Fleet to Fleet - not by the time Delta Rising hits. I'm not going to hit up another Fleet to try to purchase them...

So that leaves me in the spot of looking at doing the T5-U upgrades for them now and then having to do the T5-U upgrades again should I eventually reach the point of being able to buy the Fleet versions. So it will be a case of buying the T5-U, the Fleet version, and then the T5-U for the Fleet version. I'm just not sure that I really want to do that. Would be one thing to buy the T5-U and then buy the Fleet upgrade later..to the T5-U...but T5-U, Fleet, T5-U...meh, just don't see myself doing that any time soon.

Which simply puts me further in limbo - waiting to see just how many of those 7-10 ships are KDF (the way things normally go, meh - can picture 5 Fed, 4 Rom, and 1 KDF - am I right? Okay, it's probably not going to be that bad..but still all the same - am I right?)...

Which could mean leaving guys in what they're flying for the time being - if I do end up deleting the two Rom toons, I'd have four character slots available. There's the possibility down the road of additional playable species being added (they kind of hawed and hemmed about it at release vs. eventually) - so even more limbo.

For the most part, honestly - outside of knowing that I'm going to buy the T6 Raptor whatever it is...everybody else is pretty much just going to be the same ol' same ol' as they 50-60 at this point with the information Cryptic has provided. It's still early, so like they're fond of saying - my plans are definitely subject to change.

I'd really like to keep some of the guys in their particular ships - kind of like I'd still like them to add the Fleet Marauder and Fleet Guramba. Hell, with the slots I've got for characters - it would be nifty finally to get that Assault Negh'Var, eh?

Just a case of waiting to see - limbo - waiting to see - limbo - will have to see what blogs they drop out this week...

To answer the original question, with fully charged disruptors. I am cautiously optimistic but sitting on a war chest of 12,000Z and 600,000,000EC for the new shinies.

More seriously, DR looks like it will press on with keeping the viability of themed builds on a downward trend.

I've taken the step of retiring my themed Gorn alt in favour of a Klingon scientist, figuring that he will be better placed to take advantage of the new ships, BOffs, DOffs etc that DR will introduce. On a similar note my 22nd-century Starfleet crew - hitherto my sole Fed alt, all human and flying an Armitage - looks set to be retired in favour of what I can only describe as a "Renegade" crew - a Starfleet Klingon captain with mostly Klingon BOffs and as many Klingon / Acamarian DOffs as I can muster. Again, the idea is that this chap will be less thematically limited and able to exploit whatever OP escort comes with T6 :).

Otherwise, too little information for a decent plan at the moment. Most likely I will go back to 2011 and focus on levelling one alt at a time, rather than 3-4 at once as has been the case for the reputations. If the focus is on story missions, that just won't be viable.

I'm hoping that with levelling by skill points being back in, there will be more ways to level up than just playing the narrative - hopefully DOffing and PVP will be viable alternatives. I like the missions but playing them all 4+ times just gets old...

Already switched my Gorn back to a Fleet Mogh from a Un-upgradeable Mirror Negh'var which I was enjoying, though this is a lower priority character that probably won't be seeing action, much less T5-U upgrades until after I have my mains through most of the new content.

Might upgrade my Main Tac KDF's Fleet Kar'fi to T5-U, depending on what the new raptor (and possibly other KDF ships) are like.

So you think DR will add Tier 6 to Reputation and Tier 5 needs 100,000 to complete. No grinding for you I see in your post. I still do it the grind to keep up with it daily.. Fun! ;)

Like always, with a crate full of bloodwine and at the tip of a bat'leth! Qapla'!

On a more serious note, I'll probably waltz into the Delta Quadrant with my main Klingon first. He'll be getting the new T6 KDF Raptor for that purpose, because after all his glorious achievments for the Empire it's only honorable to grace the great General with the best tech the Klingon engineers have to offer.
So the Chancellor is assigning the newest, most advanced ship in the fleet to him for the purpose of establishing a Klingon foothold in the Delta Quadrant.

Other than him, the rest of my chars will follow in the ships they've each commanded for years - Fleet B'rel, Fleet Mogh, Fleet Kar'fi, Fleet Varanus, Fleet Corsair, Guramba, Bortasqu', Hegh'ta and Chel Grett, respectively. After the ships get upgrades, ofcourse.

I'll run through the SP content with T5-U Battle Liner, then start making decisions

I used to contribute $15-20 a month just to support the game but am really pissed off now so have stopped for the foreseeable future. Even then, ships that were more expensive than $20 did not get bought unless they were on sale, so estimated base price on T6 is going to be out of my budget. I will not pay $100-200 to upgrade my 20 fleet ships. As it stands now I will only be doing SP content. I've already started putting my monthly contribution into MWO.

My KDF toons will get their party on, down gallons of bloodwine, have headbutting contests and so forth. My Romulan toons will have a somber and boring party where they look with disdain upon that one who ends up getting to drunk and makes a fool of them self.

Oh right my Fed toons....well I guess they will just sit around twiddling their thumbs while their ships continue to collect dust.

Lol. There's that famous Abaddon quote again!

As for me? Visas will be exhausted after getting her final promotions in the Honor Guard! Some Klingon shore leave into the Delta Quadrant to let off steam will be greatly appreciated!

My rather vicious ferasan will be setting up shop in the delta quadrant in either the Qib or in her proud Command Bortas, completely decimating any race she comes across to placate her rather sadistic urges in space, and while on ground, listening to music only she can hear as she sets up explosives everywhere.

That kitty marches to the beat of a completely different drum.

Cause lets face it, at this point we've blown up planets worth of NPCs, might as well play the part amirite? And playing the part of a villian is oh, oh, oh so satisfying.

I will go in ready for worthy combat. More likely in my T5 K'Tinga Battlecruiser. As I love that legendary ship. Anyone one dares to mess with me they will be met in combat. And they will be shown no mercy. I will go to see what new friends I can get into the Empire, some new recruits for my ship of warriors, and we will storm this new vast area of space. After all said and done, we will sing songs of glorious battles over a warrior's feast and bloodwine!

I'm hoping for each of my mains to upgrade at least one ship in their fleet and get a shiny new tier 6 vessel, I'd say "intel" for sure, but the Aelahl just looks too tempting for my Romulan to pass up. It'll probably come down to Odyssey and Scryer, Bortasqu' and Qib, and Ha'apax and Aelahl for each. If I remember right and the Kamarag gets a free upgrade then my Klingon main will be getting an extra. After that will eventually come the engies and tacs, the Galaxy retrofit, Defiant retrofit, Avenger, Mogh, B'Rel, and D'Deridex.

Ultra Rares that are sellable on the Exchange are currently crafted only, which require a fair bit of Dilithium in sub-components. I expect it to go down as more gain level 15 crafting, but it won't be a huge drop for any length of time (maybe some quick dumping at the start, but not for very long) thanks to the Dilithium costs. That, and there's an upgrade mechanic that'll be introduced with DR, which lets you upgrade older item marks.

my kdf character will play there favourate tier 5 ships or the tier 6 battle cruiser and the raptor.

my rom/kdf officer will the the carrier escort the t'varvo or d'dredex or if serious fire power in needed/wanted the remen scimitar or even fleet d'lean for fun.

my reman/fed will be on a joint mission with starfleet and surpervised by starfleet in her tier 5 cstore ambassador class with her scimitar and t'varo in hot stand by

my alian rom will have it flag on the d'dredrex but also have other ships on hot stand by like t'varo maybe try the eng or science scemitar maybe tier 5 science romulan ship maybe a tier 5 mogi or even the tier 5 ha'pax or long maybe the tier 6 wardbird battle crusiser. ther tier 6 rom escort is a little too much like the t'varo for my liking upgrade to the tier 6 mixture of the d'lean and the scimitar bird of prey look cool but to me does do it for me of a romulan bird of prey. to me romulan bird of prey tend to have a more simple of a saucer and nacelle struts on the both sides of the saucer edge and nacelles hooked on to the end of the nacelle struts.
