I know during a STO livestream about a year ago it was stated that there would be more melee variety, but still waiting to see.
I was hoping it would include more species specific melee weapons. There's that Klingon dagger, that Klingon one-handed short angled blade. There's that axe type weapon that the Jem'Hadar uses to kill the Tellarite during the movie cut-scene.
With Delta Rising they definitely have an opportunity to introduce various weapons melee & other. I bet they have someone viewing episodes from all series for weapon ideas.
I usually keep a melee as my secondary weapon so I'll definitely be looking for news.
I hope they do introduce new melee weapons with X2, I think it wound be fun to have another. Story set like kdf's Stovokor. The reward could be an episode trophy or used by the player.

I was Klingon before Klingon was cool.
Ah one of the eternal wishes of the KDF community. The glorious d'k tahg and the mek'leth!
This really needs to happen, I've been bugging and pushing Cryptic for this for about 2 years now. They should make 2 melee packs for the C-Store, one with a d'k tahg and a mek'leth and the other with ushaan and kar'takin ala the lirpa/bat'leth one that is already in the C-Store. They'll make many people happy, they got to know this. Plus I believe d'k tahg and mek'leth combat animations are already existing in the game in some form, I remember the Klingon holograms in Starfleet Academy atacking me with those weapons during the Junior Officer Apreciation/Academy event.

Hey, don't forget about us Romulans that want an Honour Blade (both single and double-bladded variants).

True, I've been repeating those 2 pack suggestions long before there even was a Romulan faction. That's why I forgot to mention something like that. But I completely agree, the Romulans also deserve to have their traditional melee weapon.
