Yes. I wouldn't object to a channel switch much like was offered for Excelsior when it was added to the game. We can choose to illuminate the length of the nacelles per TNG and Voyager or not lit per Search for Spock or Undiscovered Country. As both are correct.
Regarding the forward hanger door, I didn't notice that in Peak Performance (something I've watched recently). Was it shown activated over the close doors in The Battle? I can't recall.
I'm surprised to read that the impulse engines aren't illuminated. Only the canon Nebula saucer was ever given the unique reason to not be.

Red Bussard Collectors: Please give us the option for canonical Black.
Really? Red glow on it?! Good Lord. It'd be nice if the ship designers actually watched the episode the ship they are making was in. Or noticed that it was the same nacelles from the movie ship (which also didn't glow, btw)
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.

Who knows. Maybe they thought it was a good idea to give it a red glow so it feels feel modernized?
If they was going to fiddle with a canon design, I'm surprised they didn't incorporated options like with the Steamrunner and the Excelsior.
The front is a giant shuttlebay door, and shuttlebays have forcefields do they not?
Only when they are open. But that applies to every ship, and none in game currently allow us to toggle open the shuttlebay doors, so I'm not sure why you think this ship should be unique.

Do any other shuttle bays in the TV shows/movies have visible force fields OUTSIDE the doors when closed?
No.
Okay, let me ask you this. How many Star Trek ships, other than the Constellation, had a forward-facing shuttlebay? (Mind you, if you're thinking of the Akira, it never was confirmed being a carrier in canon.)
Wouldn't you think it's plausible they would use a forcefield to reinforce the otherwise thin and voluminous shuttlebay doors to keep reduce damage the impacts from forward momentum or from battle, which obviously be major weak spots?
Anyhow, if you think it's not there then don't add it. Unlike Tuskin what makes it like to be, I'm not demanding they add it. Like the other requests, I'm asking for an option to turn on / off. Because if the Art Team can give the nacelles a non canonical red glow, then it's not out of the ordinary to ask for a forcefield glow around the front shuttlebay. Just like with the Constellation CGI used by Doug Drexler and shown on his old Drex Files site.
forcefields are invisible. so guess what? your front door now has a great big force field on it, your welcome. if you want visible for no reason force fields, go play with your vesta
No, the Constellation had impulse engines. They just didn't glow.
So we aren't allowed to ASK if we could have the option to show engine glow? Especially with the ship team going against canon in adding the red buzzard collectors in the first place?

From the looks of things the physical model of the ship did indeed have red at the front of the nacelles. My guess is the reason they looked black originally was because of the lighting and they weren't lit up in the TV shows. And the later redone CGI version did have them black http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/scans/drex/stargazer-cgi-angled.jpg
And you can see in those pics the nacelles aren't glowing at all, so in the right angle depending on lighting, especially at a distance, they would appear black in space.
Constellation does have two copies of the impulse engine assembly as seen on the movie Constitution and Miranda classes. They are simply turned sideways on the model. So are not obvious to everyone. Again, Nebula is the only model ever discussed which - by design - was never meant to show glowing impulse engines. If for any reason Constellation was shown moving at impulse without this glow, it was simply a production error which shouldn't carry over to STO.

For me it's one of the most detailed, canonical, best looking models in game. I wish they would upgrade all the old ship models with this Level of detail. Intrepid is next. And there are still tons of iconic ships like Negh'var, Galaxy, Nebula, etc. that need the same treatment. Thumbs up!
I would be nice if the impulse and bussard glows were given an on / off option like the Excelsior and Oberth. It also would be nice if the Constitution Refit and Miranda had this option.
The Steamrunner had Impulse engines added by fan request a few days after it was launched, it would be nice to se this again.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Uh, there is no "forcefield" on the constellation's forward shuttlebay, or what ever it is

Edit: If you look closely the front of the top nacelle on the left of the picture is a very dark red http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120801202120/memoryalpha/en/images/3/3a/USS_Stargazer.jpg

See the orange-yellow glowy bits in this picture? Those are the impulse exhausts. Cryptic, please fix this.
