Meh, I use it. Star Trek Online is the only game I play but I do have a few friends on my friends list via ARC (granted it's not as many as I have with STEAM) and can see when they log in and stuff.

To me it's not that horrible, open Arc, start the STO launcher, minimize and forget ARC...play the game.

I play STO and CO. Occasionally I pop into NWNs, Blacklight, and Swordsman. So I am playing roughly 1/3 of their game line and I have several friends who are online doing other games.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

I never use ARC. I launch the game through Steam and prefer it that way. I get all the news and dev blogs straight from the forums. I actually find the ARC page for STO quite cluttered and confusing. It's an example of something which sounded awesome in some PWE memo but when put into action has been poorly executed.

I don't even use Arc to launch STO :P I've still got the old launcher program from Beta, along with my discs.

    Exactly the quoted above.

The only time I ever fire up ARC is to redeem a code for some random free things (mostly in Neverwinter). Beyond that, it never even runs.

I still find it strange the amount of time pwe has spent on developing arc compared to the games it is suppose to support
Should I start posting again after all this time?

I do not blame PW for the lack of Content or bug fixes on STO. I blame Cryptic. Yes, PW gives Cryptic a budget each year and tells them what ROI they expect to get in return but it is the CoC at Cryptic which decides how that budget will get spent.

I would not be surprised to learn that Cryptic's executives bonuses are based on the ROI and so they are far more interested in making money then fixing things

I use it when I don't want my steam friends to know I'm playing a game. There is a personal private reason for this I will not discuss here, but that's pretty much why I have arc. Backup to steam.

Seeing how a week or so ago I got my new computer and the first thing I did after turning it on was post a thread asking for the "Original" STO DL link...

I don't use Arc because I use the client to launch the game.

Arc did not go live until after I started playing STO, but it was in beta at the time.

    NEVER

It's a very bad Steam clone with crappy PWE Chinese Farming Games, and I only installed it once to get the FREE Wrath of Khan costume and Ferengi shuttle (Which by the way, devalued the actual Ferengi in game shuttle).

It is BLOAT software to push crappy PWE Games to STO fans. I run my STO launcher through Steam, which is a much better system and offers great variety of games at low cost.
