Running out of space

I saw this in the latest blog:
Tier 6 starships start at level 0 and progress to level 5 as the captain plays the game normally. At each level (up to level 4), the starship gains a new passive ability that provides a sizeable boost to a stat like damage resistance, critical hit chance, or hit points. These passive abilities are specific to the ship that has unlocked them and each starship within a given category shares the same package of passive abilities.

My first thought was "sounds interesting" my next was the sudden realisation that I'm rapidly running out space to see what's going on.

Ok first off when at home I'm on my nice big 19" wide-screen HD monitor and all is shiny. However I have a laptop which I also play on (EG: When I'm at work). The lap top only has a mere 15.6".
Now to save space I've already collapsed all the BOFF's to nothing and slotted all their powers on to my Tray, which I have set to maximum number of rows.

However some of my captains, with Ship console abilities, and Reputation abilities have filled up every slot.
Others in carriers have the Squadron management window intruding elsewhere on the screen. I'm also already having UI elements tripping over each other at the moment, but luckily these tend to be non-critical elements, which I can automate or not need to a degree.

This is leaving me wondering what's going to happen in the future. While Not being able to see the game due to the UI controls is all very ironic and meta, its not something I'm looking forward to.

I hope someone at cryptic has thought this through, and run some tests on less than optimal screens sizes, where real estate is a bit lacking.
Will we get another row visible in the tray? Or will there be a new space saver version? Maybe the ability to automate functions?

scale the UI down to 0.85 if you haven't done that yet.

Go to the settings in Options, click Display, and fiddle with the choices under Display Mode. I've played this game on everything from 10 inch netbooks to 20 inch monitors, and my go-to choice for window size is Windowed, because I can drag the sides to to my preferred dimensions. Nothing's ever been cut off or wonky to me that way. Also, play with Aspect Ratio. I have my Aspect Ratio set to Auto, I'm not as picky about that one.

Hope that helps you in some way.

Edit: And I agree with adjusting the UI as someone mentioned. It's under the Basics tab, as Interface Scale. I have mine set for .90 and it's always been fine for me on any size screen.

is there a way to get that bridge officer UI back? I saw a video of someone who had that, and I don't have any such thing. How can that be reactivated?

    Click on yer F12 button.
When all the light green boxes pop up, look for the one you want, usually somewhere at the bottom of the screen.
Many of the boxes have a "HIDE" button on them that you can UNclick.
Also, if you are using the THREE COLUMN option for your setup, I believe the Bridge Officers box is automatically hidden.

Agree totally. Either that or use the 2 buttons to the right of the '0' key.
