should i wait to october or get a lobi ship for my useless char?

i have a romulan char, who is a tactical char,

he has a scim, (not a big fan of the scim personally cause of the turn rate)

is there a ship thats better in them lobi or will there be one in october

    i wouldnt buy anything until after the expansion in october.
    moreover, the scimitar is the most overpowered ship in the game...

    My opinion is that if there is a ship you find appealing, buy it, if you want it. I personally think i understand STO's bottom line enough to think that the tier 5 ships will be upgradable to be truly usable for lvl 60 content. The simple truth is that if the tier 5 upgrades are not up to snuff, the tier 6 ships wont sell, ever. Ships, whether zen, lobi, or lockboxes comprise a large portion of Cryptics incom. If they do not do the upgrades well enough, the bottom drops out of the market now, and people wont be as apt to buy the tier 6 either. This is because people will start saying, what is going to happen 4 years down the line when tier 7 comes out.

    I'd tend to agree with this. Its the same advice I've been giving fellow fleet members.

    I would wait too. Lobi items are bound to character once opened. Save the Lobi for your primary characters. C-Store ships are usually account wide, so if you buy one for your throw-away character, you can later get one for your primary or a new character for no additional cost.

    There is also a very good bet that there will be a new Lockbox around the time of Delta Rising. So not only will we have all the T5U/T6 ships to deal with but we will probably have some Delta Quadrant species ships in Lockboxes and in the Lobi Store to think about getting as well.
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    I wouldn't buy anything, especially something so pricey for a character you consider useless. Plus if you just want something faster for an alt to toy with, there is the Winter Event 6 weeks after X2 launches, when you can get that toon a T5-U11 Chel Grett or Plesh Brek for free, and they're both very good ships and quicker than the Scim.

    As others have already said. It's best to wait til the expansion goes live. If we get a new lockbox with the expansion . if it or the lobi store don't have some variation of a federation inspired "Dauntless " starship I would be utterly shocked. Honestly to see the Delta operations bundle pack and no sign of the Dauntless in it. suprised me. So thinking , cryptic has that ship in a closest waiting for a lockbox or lobi store ship for delta rising. And if not ... I just gave cryptic a lovely idea. Que the hate laughs.

    on the other hand, if you have the lobi NOW, why don't you copy your toon to tribble and take the existing lock box ships for a test drive? that way once the new stuff comes out in october you will have more information
