Can't equip more bridge officers??

Hey everyone,

So I've been away for a while and I hope this question doesn't sound repetitive.

I have a Captain (level 36) character, and I'm using a Defiant-type escort.

I did not have enough bridge officer stations to fill all of my escort's stations, so I decided to at least add one more Boff to my crew.

However, for some reason I always run into the "there's no room for that" message, even after buying an extra two Boff slots (never showed on my GUI) and an Aenar bridge officer requisition from the C-Store.

In addition, I cannot buy another Boff via the exchange.

Does anyone know what the deal is?

Thanks for any and all info! :-)

You might have a backlog of boffs in your inventory not commissioned

Thanks for the response. If I do have a backlog of BOffs, where would they be stored?

I don't see them in my regular inventory...are they on the "stations" screen?

hit U, click on the stations tab at the top

On the left side of the screen you will see your name at the top, underneath it your current ship, and your shuttle. Then underneath all of that you will see all of your boffs that you have commissioned. In the middle part is of course the ship stations, shuttle stations and your away team. And as you probably know you draw from your pool of commissioned boffs on the left to fill those station slots. On the right side are your candidates and since you've been playing a while you probably already know that those are the ones who can train your commissioned boffs and when you do that the commissioned boff will get trained and the candidate will disappear forever. Or you can commission the candidate and they get taken off that roster on the right and move to the roster on the left.

    1) on the left side under the name of your very last boff are there extra slots that say [no officer]? maybe once or a couple of times? I know that you said you bought extra slots but just check and see what it says.

    2) are you sure that you purchased extra boff slots and not the extra duty officer slots? you said you were gone for a while. How long were you gone? were you still playing before the doff system was put in place and you just didnt know about it now?

    3) on the right side how many candidates do you have? I dont know if there is a limit because i've never had a bunch of candidates. But maybe if you post up a number people will say if that is the limit or not.

I know a lot of that stuff you probably already know, and it might sound dumb for me to ask you stuff that might be obvious. But i'm just being thorough.

No, no! Thank you for being thorough!! I know exactly what you're talking about, and yes, like a doofus the right side of my "U" GUI is FULL of BOff candidates. I've been gone too long!

For whatever insance reason, I thought those were BOffs that I could BUY, not that I already have. Go figure.

To be honest, one of the top reasons I play STO is because of the great community we have here! I need to make sure I stay current.

Thank you again for all the great info. See y'all out there.

According to the wiki, the right column Candidate list is limited to 12 candidates.

    http://sto.gamepedia.com/Bridge_Officer_Candidate#Candidates

It's possible to have more than this (or at least it used to be) if a Boff ends up in your regular Inventory instead of your candidate roster, however, Boffs in the Inventory cannot be moved around in the inventory. They are stuck occupying whatever cell they fall into until you right click and move them to your candidate roster, dismiss them, or put them in the mail.
