Quality Pass

Is it about time Cryptic did a pass over some of the older assets in game. Some of the models, especially the older starships are looking really tired now and low poly compared to some of Cryptics newer offerings. Now obviously we have no real idea how the proposed tier six upgrade system will work... However, if Cryptic want ships to keep bringing in money would it not be good to update them a little? Some of the prime examples to me that I can think of now are the Constitution refit, Galaxy, Akira, golfball medical ship thing and the Luna variants. I think if Cryptic spent just a little time improving these models it might see them earn a bit more in cash while making sure the game looks top notch all the way through instead of the glaring inconstancies we have now.

Can't argue that it would be nice......but it's not a trivial use of resources to do.

And, despite everyones wish lists, this is a sort of zero sum game.

Resources spent on one thing can't be deployed on something else.

There has to be some triage.

Well I can't argue with what you've said, of course updating assets will take away from other development. However I think one of STO's biggest problems is the wildly varying quality of content and assets. The old stuff is REALLY showing it's age now, and I don't think that's a good thing. Cryptic needs to on occasion make sure that older missions etc are up to the same standards as the rest of the game.
