For me, more AOE stuns, AOE holds, AOE blocks and AOE disables. Might as well sit there in a ship and do nothing else.
What would it be fore you?
You mean AoE invisible ewp ,AoE invisible tetryon gas and AoE tyken rifts which drain the entire team thou only a single player popped them ,AoE TIF,VM spread doff?
Another escape or invulnerability console or ability, especially escapes that can be used under tractor like fluidic jump, or invulnerability that can't be nuked off like Voth shield. Seems like we always get another thing like this ever lockbox or rep, well anymore will make pvp unplayable.
the "uber-meh-in-pve-but-iwin-in-pvp" button. beside all the ones we already got ...
indeed i've no idea. probably when they start to TRIBBLE up pvp once and for all with it's own season .
just give us new maps and some new modes and call it a season. plz lol!
Well, looking at the latest blog...and just speculating...
10 new Ground/Space abilities at level 60, probably split into a 5/5 thing, eh? Along the lines of the Rep tiers...then much like the Rep system and traits, the ability at 60 to continue earning them while only being able to slot 5 or so, hrmm? They haven't stated whether those would be a combination of active/passives or what not yet...
At 60, we also pick up an additional Captain Trait - Personal Trait, eh?
Then there's going to be the T6 ships with a special ability and BOFFs related to those special abilities...hrmmm...
Certain gear kicking up to Mk XIV...
I don't think Cryptic's bothering with a coffin for PvP - just wrapping some chain around it and tossing it in the river.
Meh, on one hand - I feel like I shouldn't be so bleak about it. Cause in the end, it's new stuff - we adapt - we find new synergies - we rise to the challenge...we giggle like schoolgirls as we find new and interesting ways to blow each other up...cause that's PvP.
But on the other hand, I finally got around to watching that match (my Firefox settings caused the page to crash - so I gave in and watched it in IE)...and I can't help but picture that without having to give up a trait and with the addition of specializations.
even more healing being put onto the ships (like what the new consoles do from crafting, so far so good)
but really, how much healing on a ship or that you can send to a teammate gets over the top?
I know many folks on the forums dont like the "nerf healing" approach to making pvp more dynamic as they prefer stalemating opposing teams day after day with cross-healing and the only hope being if the other team has 3+ CHAINED subnukes to even have a CHANCE at getting a kill
Like really guys, when you stand back and look at it, does that even make sense? an entire team makeup comes down to how many nukes they have? to get through all the healing, the cross healing, the escape consoles, etc
really, this game could have all the healing slashed in half and you would have a better balance in the pvp cues because of it
and ya, folks would cry, you would have hardend pvpers crying over the fact that one day, their escort could speed tank 5 folks shooting at them and now today, 5 folks shooting at them cuts them in half in no time- (by the way, that makes sense right?)
I dont know, one can dream:) not to mention you would have more balanced teams rolling in the pve cues on account of the now REASON to have a team healer
I suppose that would cause all the pve tac heros out there to come burn down the forums over the fact they wouldnt be able to solo a tac cube anymore with one emergency power to shields 1 and a tac team 1 LOL (by the way, that makes sense right?)
but ya, I guess for me, if they ramp up healing anymore then it already is, I might be moving on, cause already all major pvp 5v5s are just decided on how many nukes a teams got to get A kill, everything else is just all flashy lights and random chances, if they dialed down healing, or continued to buff up all forms of damage, we would have closer matches, faster matches, and more approachable team setups by the larger population to field into the cues
no one wants to because they like being very tanky while at the same time dish out top level dps,
or they like being very tanky while at the same time keeping an entire team alive under heavy, heavy fire indefinently
or they like being very tanky while at the same time dish out fistfuls of disables on targets
but ya, do away with the even possiblity of 100k damage in 1 shot while at the same time dial down the healing across the board, limit down the resistances and the defenses, not to mention the ignore X amount of damage procs and effects and boom, now you got hot and heavy pvp fights in the cues that more folks can enjoy with a variety of builds
but then again, its fine the way it is now, really the big upset could be with the t6 ships, so perhaps all of this is just to balance out those ships when they launch, not sure

when everyone found out that blasted target name keybind making it super easy to nuke alphas making it so people had to resort to spam and cheese to get kills!
Even if healing and resistance was cut by half, that would not stop teams from sporting 3 or more science.
Starships shouldn't be instant healing in the first place, but right now there is no room for attrition. Things either happen either vaper fast or glacier slow. Buff the living snot out of all hull points player ships have so that healing is just a trickle. Oh and for Pete's sake remove out of combat regen. Make damage a badge of pride. Make pvp deathmatch match. Your dead, your out.
This is not any different than a level 50 dominating a level 40. The more time you spend on your character, the better it gets.
Boy this sounds like fun.
So we gain points in this new infinite advancement system in any content we like, who here wants to bet that any content won't include PvP, or if it does its pay outs will be marginal compared to the new Delta Rising STF type content.
but if folks like to roleplay that's cool by me, no harm no foul right?
so are you a level 12 Klingon in real life? do you like to spend times with your buddies out at the park with your rubber klink foreheads on and your foam klink swords out paddling each other?
That's cool man, you're super-edgy. You do also write some long posts and the one I quoted was really emo for such a cool individual.
On topic, I like diversity of boff powers and build possibilities. However, more CC space magic is not something PvP was necessarily hurting for. That said, I think that the final coffin nail for me would be if the impending specialisation trees allow more multiplicative stacking of super-tank infinite survival nonsense. When escorts have as much Eng. as a Fleet Star Cruiser the last thing that we need is a way to add like 50% DR and 25% defence on top of what exists already.
Any kind of increase in de-cloak vaping. For me the whole idea of a de-cloaking B'rel or T'varo that can vaporise something like a Galaxy Class Cruiser is ridiculous. Sure the element of surprise should certainly count for some extra damage but what's the point in building a super tough ship that can hold it's own in a dog fight just to be vaped by a tiny ship one tenth it's mass in a second.
Glad I vape in an Ar'kif and escape your criticism. For all the complaints I hear from cruiser pilots about vapers, I have a strong feeling they've never seriously tried it, because by no means is vaping a tank cruiser easy or a given win button. Consistent success with vaping takes a lot more practice than merely adding more armor/resists to your zombie cruiser, especially if you run solo having no outside sci support etc. This all being said, I don't want to see anymore clicky consoles either, just don't appreciate people attacking a play style because they believe bigger is better.
Don't think I didn't notice you swap through toons/ships in kerrat last night until settling on aux2faw scimitar all because those haxor kdf vapers cheating with their cheater builds.
bunch of fixes could be put out there to solve that to without wrecking the builds, just would make it that vapers come in when a target is weaked horribly, opposed to now where they swoop in on anybody and poof- their gone.
Swoop in on anyone and poof - they're gone? Seriously? If only it was that easy...
Vaping a horribly weakened target? All you need for that is CRF1, and you know this first hand.
i am not sure i understand this thread. 1st off its about toning down heals. then its now about toning down vapers.
but the small little attack ships already have no healing, weak hulls and are the definition of a glass hammer. meaning the translation of this is we dont like out big shinny feddy bear ships to get blown up by small ships.
since if you reduce healing on a global lvl those small ships will now explode when somebody looks at them the wrong way.
Trophies for killing FEDS ahh those were the days.

what already has put the nail in the coffin is the fact that pvp has ****ty rewards.

For Silver players, Cryptic will probably make sure there's a fashionable assortment of them in the Lobi Store.
