RIP Arlene Martel (AKA T'Pring)

For those of you who may not know, the Star Trek galaxy has lost one of its shining stars. Arlene Martel, who portrayed T'Pring (Spocks wife to be) in Amok Time passed way Tuesday due to heat related issues.

While her role in Star Trek might have been fairly minor, she was a great actress who played many roles over the years, and she will be missed by the Trekker community.
"Why all the sales"?

And a merry freaking Christmas to you too, Ebenezer.

Considering TOS was a 60s series it is inevitable that more and more actors will travel to the 2nd star on the right.

We feel with their families for their loss.

This is however Star Trek related and not STO related and therefor it should be in Ten Forward and not here.

Perhaps we should start a "RIP <insert star trek actor here> topic and sticky it to avoid this flurry of topics.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I'm truly saddened to hear this. Rest in peace, Ms. Martel.

I think it very much belongs here. I look forward to reading similar news and discussing it here.

(I am sorry for the loss.)

Minor correction: Heart issues, not heat.

It would be infuriating if it was a heat-related death, because almost all of those are preventable. Heart attacks, not so easily prevented.

FYI... this thread was moved to Ten Forward, your destination of choice for all intersocial threads that don't directly have something to do with the game, including non-STO Star Trek topics.

Star Trek Online General Discussion is for topics that have to do with the game.
My views may not represent those of Cryptic Studios or Perfect World Entertainment. You can file a "forums and website" support ticket here

Vulcan IS one of the planets you can visit in game though, perhaps a small and simple bit added there. Vulcans live simple lives so it wouldn't be a shrine or anything, but something could be added in as a nod towards her and her work.

A small plaque in memory of T'Pring? A memorial fountain or garden, perhaps?
