Ambassador Modification

Hello folks,
i'd like to know your opinion about a little idea i had.

I always thought the Ambassador looks great, but the angular pylons where the sinlge element that bugged me. I couldn't help, they looked just of place to me. so i had the idea to make them a bit curved.

Left: Standard Pylons / Right: Modified Pylons.

What do you think?
Wouldn't it be great to have such a ship part for this jewel of a ship?

To be totally honest, I think the Ambassador Class could do with an upgrade as a whole (though your suggestion is as good as any). It would be nice to have a few more skins for the Support Cruiser though, that would be after they've fixed the axis issue.

The Dawnstar is an awesome looking design that they could surely take elements from?

    That's a really nice ship.
I like the engineering hull and neck the most, they unite the shapes of the excelsior and galaxy in a fluid and elegant way. It's a piece of art IMO.
Nacelles look gorgeous too, although they could be a bit shorter imo.

The saucers edgy shape won't fit to the rest TBH. Especially compare to the smooth and elegant looking Engineering hull/Neck combination. But it is still a awesome ship!

I wish Crpytics designers would create such beautiful ships.

Although it's probably not something I would use. I would like to see more variants and ships for us to choose from. If people like it and want it, I hope PWE can do it justice. When you look at the ships we currently have in the game, they are all bugged in one way or another and don't get me started on how awful some of the textures and models are.

The only thing I dont like on the Ambassador are the nacelles. It has the best looking hull/deflector, the saucer is quite nicely done, and I can get past the pylons. The nacelles just bug me though, they look very fragile and unfinished.

Dawnstar is a nice ship, Though I'm not convinced about the cut out on the Bow edge of the saucer to be honest.
A version with and without perhaps, (assuming it was to be made available).

Also I'm not too sure about the Sovereign styled Impulse Exhaust vents and Pylons, I'm not sure It suits the overall design and I would use something a bit more similar to the Galaxy Impulse engine design.

I always did like this version of it http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/articles/ambassador/probert-preliminary-ambassador.jpg Mybe the Engineering hull is a bit over sized, not sure

I like the modification, but not the classic Ambassador. The angled pylons are necessay for a ship that forms the bridge between TOS/TMP and TNG designs. The more round pylons could work with a 25th century refit for the support cruiser, using some design like the one shpoks posted a few days/weeks ago.

Yeah, the angled pylons look like the ones the excelsior got. But they don't really help making the ship look better, they look somehow out of place IMO.
The Ambassador should be more than just a conglomeration of other ships ship parts, sadly we didn't see more of it in the shows. Maybe if they had planned to use it more often, they would have put more work/love into it, instead of trying to create a ugly little sister of the GCS.

    @ursusmorologus
In which way do you think the Amb. nacelles look fragile?
I always thought they look rather sturdy.

First: There was a word missing in my post, I meant to write "I like the modification, but not for the classic Ambassador..." since I like the Ambassador and originally I wanted it to be my main ship, but back in the day there was no Ambassador yet and in the meantime my main character got the Galaxy :D

I don't see a lack of planning the the Ambassador's design, like I said I really like it, you see the lineage and where the design is headed. Completely round pylons are something that should be the look of the 25th century starfleet, but instead Cryptic goes all edgy and "military" again, which is a shame.
