Robin Williams NPC.

Im not sure if im posting this in the right place but here goes. Since his death info has come out that he was a huge MMO player and for all we know played STO. I am suggesting to the devs that there be Robin Williams NPC. maybe not on ESD but maybe Drozana. Have him Do some funny quotes and jokes. Many of us grew up with his work and since he was such an MMO fan we should honor him.

    Yes, he was a great guy, and yes, we're all very sad about what happened, but he had nothing to do with this game. Please pay your respects to him elsewhere.

    Ah, no. Trek has no shortage of actors to do tributes for on its own.

    Indeed, there has been no memorials for anyone that's worked on Star Trek, even Gene and Majel. So making a memorial for Robin Williams don't even make any sense.

    He was a genius and will be missed. But let WoW be the one to honor him.

    Robin Williams was also reportedly a big fan of Star Trek and he has a couple of interesting connections to the franchise. Having cut his teeth in science fiction with Mork and Mindy, one day in 1978 Williams took a break during the shooting the show on the Paramount lot to visit the set of Star Trek: The Motion Picture. He rode his bicycle to the soundstage, met the cast, and visited the bridge of the Enterprise. According to Walter Koenig (from his book "Chekov’s Enterprise") "his wide-eyed admiration not withstanding, his squeaky-voiced reaction to all the buttons and panels is, "Hmmmm, microwave!""

    He was also a video game nerd like us and loved mmos. I think a Robin Williams Npc would be a fine tribute to him in STO or any other video game.

    Just... no

    I was miserable the entire next day after hearing the news, but STO isn't the place for that.

    Don't get me wrong, I do love Williams. The problem is, WoW beat us to an NPC.

    I'm putting in my request early, I want mine to be a Bronze Statue of Dr. Sheldon Cooper.

    My IQ is only 142, but we share completely similar interests and hobbies.

    Your being in favor of all development ceasing as the devs are required to work 24/7 on tribute statues of every single STO player is noted.

    WoW is already doing it, and Nintendo is considering it, we don't really have to copy them.

    The next featured episode will be beaming down into the great hall of all STO toons ever...... and then having to engage in a series of R&D projects for the next couple of real life years to find your way out.

    For the record this was a suggestion from my fleet and I drew the short straw. I like the idea of a Mork doff.

    Op If YOU want to honor robin williams in STO why not make a toon with his name and likeness and name one of YOUR ships after him.

    Im a fan of Mr williams and grew up watching his works and jokes but i dont feel it necassary to put a monument to him in this game .

    As others mentioned let WoW do the shameless honoring and soaking and what not we players here at STO should not resort to shameless PR moves like WoW.

    Considering they didn't make an NPC for one of their own team members, Mark Valentine...?

    (They made him an in-game memorial, though.)

    It was a petition sign by players that wanted a NPC put into WOW. Blizzard themselves didn't say they wanted to do it before that happen.

    While it might seem kinda cool, I don't think a specific NPC honoring Mr. Williams would be right.

    Now if you want to create a Character that can resemble him and then take screenies at the memorial spot at Starfleet Academy, that wouldn't be a bad thing. I actually did something along those lines when a close friend of mine passed away last Oct. The significant other of my friend was brought to tears when I displayed the pics.
