I would like to biuld a vape style Warbird which is able to stay in prolonged combat. I was thinking, with 3DHC and a torp plus 2-3 Turrents, using APA, EPtoW3, APB/APO, CRF3. With that, would i be doing enough burst to vape?
Yes... but it's going to require some incredible skills to properly time the torpedo, and a carefully made build to maximise its potential.
I do that with a variant of my Scimitar, but I'll avoid to post it as its price is suicidal, gear and doff wise.
Let's just say I score >40k crits most of the times.
OK then. I am going to try to do it with an arkif or the Mogai. Fleet versions of both of course. As for the price.......ive dumpped far more money in this game than i care to admit. my romulan has nearly EVERYTHING he can have...
Vaping and prolonged combat? From my experience that doesn't mix very well. It is possible, but you'll be just a jack of both trades and master of neither.
A good vape build sacrifices his survivability for maximum spike potential.
Get in, deliver your package and get the hell out or you'll be space dust.
If you also spec into survivability you'll loose damage potential and imho, DHC+Torp vaping doesn't only need skills (or rather timing) but also much luck. I gave it up because on my end the animation from torps and the time when they hit had a huge disparity. I often saw them dealing damage before the animation hit the target. Though this might be just me and the fact, that sitting in Europe gives me a base "lag" that even the best connection cannot overcome.
Might also be a good choice to get a Scimitar. You are going to want to use the extra fore weapon slot, especially if (for whatever reason) you don't wanna use beam overload.
