Robin Williams and STO

Interesting to note we have had numerous threads about player behavior lately in STO and similarly Robin Williams' daughter has had to close her social media accounts due to "trolls"

Not sure what can be done about the current state of affairs but the current state of doing nothing needs to stop.

    geez.

    Robin Williams will be missed, but Robin had NOTHING to do with STO.

    Misleading. Move along.

    Naming an infant after a game character?
    I'm not sure if a great sense of humor or Intense cruelty applies.

    Anyway, Trolls are trolls. Only thing to do about them is not to feed them.
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    I think that's the least one can do. When they are overly abusive and hurtful towards others I believe there is one philosophy to go by - "kill it with fire".

    "Zelda" did not originate from the game itself


    Zelda is thought by some to be a variant spelling of Selda, a name from the Old English selda (companion). Alternatively, Zelda is a Yiddish cognate of the German word salida (happiness, joy).

    Perhaps this thread should be moved to Ten Forward?

    The trolls of the STO forums are mostly harmless tho slightly irritating to the point it would be nice if we could speak to their mothers so they could have them sit on the "naughty step".

    The type of troll that trolls a grieving family or is just being plain nasty..... they are on a different level.... while they are useless people too.. they are not harmless, they are vile hate filled freaks........ If they cross a line they should be punished by the law like they have done a couple of times here in the UK.

    Really rather tacky to try and further one's own agenda with the death of a well-known actor.

    ... and it wouldnt be the first time someone used a well knowns death to advance ones own image unfortunately. frankly the thread should be locked then moved elsewhere to fan the flames.

    In this case, though, she was directly named for the video game character. Robin let his young son pick the name, and was very open that it was from the video game.
    This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.
