So I have a mission which will have a Civilian Defence Force vessel show up and I need a good name for it
Normally with my ships and Fed ships I fall back on Historical names, But with Aliens this doesn't work too well.
I could name it after a know character from the show maybe,
Any ideas?

Might work, Donjon has a lot of different catagories , might be a suitable one there

According to a deleted scene from "Tears of the Prophets", the founder of the Cardassian Union was named Tret Akleen. "Akleen" sounds like it could be a good ship name, though it may be more fitting for a True Way vessel.
You could alternatively go for names of Cardassian cities or planets, such as "Lakat" or "Chin'toka".
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone

Oh I like that, I'll have True way and CDF in the mission so I might use Akleen as the True way vessel

When I got my in-game Galor class and was deciding what to name it, I looked at some of Cardassian words we know, like kanar with its long As and Ks, Ns, and Rs, and I kind of extended it and came up with Karanor. You can use that if you like or make some variation on it.
Good to research some historical figures of various cultures. I named my Romulan missions after early Romulan leaders mentioned on Memory Beta and my current one is Frenchotte after a Romulan composer Dax mentioned. For Klingon ships, I used early Emperor and High Chancellor names from Memory Beta.
I love Memory Beta. It has so many competing canon, but that means there is a lot of inspiration to draw on if you're ever stuck for something like a name.

I've been known to just use names of existing Cardassian ships. Even with names from Star Trek: Armada and Birth of the Federation, I think you're probably on the safe side of the EULA since almost none of them have any backstory worth mentioning (and you can always say you're just making a shout-out to the games).
For a specific example that's clearly safe EULA-wise, you could use the Trager, Gul Macet's ship in TNG: "The Wounded". Could be either the original or a new-build successor. I myself made a mirror version of the Koranak for my fic The Wrong Reflection. (Chapter in question isn't up yet.)

You could try googling an alien name generator.
