Why do the devs like bring more imbalance to PVP in the form of lockbox items? They first brought us the Jem'hadar Attack ship with it's OP weapon and engine power, and hull that is as tough as a cruiser. If that didn't give us pain enough they brought in the Elochi cannons that bypass all shields and eat through hull. There is not one shield type, hull armor, or buff that mentions resistance of Elochi weapons. Why is this so? The Devs don't care if the PVP is broken and stupid? Players that happen to match Elochi cannons to an escort cuts through all his opponants like a knife through butter, even if the victim is a tanky cruiser. When you get players armed with Elochi cannon s on a Jem'hadar Attack Ship then the slaughter is so ridiculous that players quit because the game is not even close to being fair or fun.
Is that what you want, Mr. Dev? Do you want players to keep giving up PVP because you guys fail to release powers with a reasonable counter balance in the game?
Jem hadar isn't outclassed bit there a good few escorts that match it.
Elachi is disruptor...yep...disruptor
elachi cannons are still based on procs. It doesn't insta jib anyone but can give you that extra hull damage to finish someone off...who to be honest, would've been dead soon anyway.
Sounds like you need to step your game up and see that pvp is fine
Wouldn't say pvp is "fine" but man if you don't know Elachi are disruptors based then I think I know why you're getting creamed really easily. Basic game knowledge helps.
there are a lot of ways to bypass shields. Expensive lockbox weapons that are difficult to get are only one of them and possibly the worst (cost/reward) of the lot. One of the reputation perks passes shields and is far better at it than elachi guns.
Its mmo pvp, which is already dumb and imbalanced by definition. You don't start with equal gear in a match, and the ship types, captain classes, and so on do not form a rock-scissors-paper counter properly, certain effects provide stacking synergy that is overwhelming, and there are any number of problems (imbalance) built right into the combat engine; for example defense vs hull/shield: does anyone think a beam cruiser can't hit a fast moving escort these days, making up for the lack of shield and hull? No, everyone has enough accuracy to counter defense and vape the escort.
Well yeah, OP. The Devs literally don't want us PvPing. How have you not caught on to that? Was them calling us fourteen-year-old min-maxers not enough?

Here's my personal number one issue: Disrespect and Disregard from the very top. A certain dev with a handle named for a small lizard makes my blood pressure rise.

Because its easier to sell gamble boxes than it is to make an end-game

I hate these things too. So ridiculously OP, and a lot of people who are decent PVPers when using one suck without it.

Elachi proc isnt that bad. 2.5% chance of low damage, isnt enough to kill you by itself. But its annoying when its stacked on top of a bunch of other things, which cumulatively kill you much faster. As you say, put them on the JHAS (or the Hunter or the new Xindi escort) and they are able to hold you in target and kill you pretty well. Its the cumulative effects that make things OP here. Same is true for some science ship setups, some cruisers, etc.

Others already said, it is disruptor-based, so any resist to disruptor damage will reduce it.

PVP is an after-thought in STO. They care about it but its not a primary design factor. Balance is not important to them, in fact they make money by breaking balance--look at fleet holdings and stuff, how much dilithium is sunk to get fleet gear with extra proc, that is their money, they are selling imbalance all the time.
I dont think he knows about the last 10 escorts ...to be honest i dont think even devs know ...to know they would have to actually play the damn thing.

Not even in my personal top 10.
And the bug? In my judgement, there are now 3 Challengers to its supremacy.

In the mean time when you get a pause from killing npcs check this http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/forumdisplay.php?f=351
I would if someone would give me one
My PvE/PvP hybrid skill tree
you can always test one on tribble to see how "great" it is....or buy one from exchange but no QQ when you get killed by a2b fleet patrol escorts.
I haven't seen anything that has warranted qq in pvp for a long time

Then you either continue playing that joke or you leave the game in disgust.
