Doffing Question - Just how many doff assignment slots are we SUPPOSED to have?

This is kind of a dumb question(s), but I'm scratching my head over this.

Before S9.5, my characters seemed to have 21 available doff assignment slots. I could start a 21st assignment, and then I was full up. I could have sworn early in doffing (Level 10-20), I had only 20 slots.

Post 9.5, it seems my characters all have 20.

In some threads on these forums - I see people saying up to 23!?

How many are we supposed to have? If it starts at 20 and goes up, how do you get more? If I had 21, and now 20, should that be reported as a bug, or was having 21 a bug which has now been corrected?

Thanks in advance...

dont know how you could have lost one, but you start with 20, and can get 3 more slots from the embassy vendor

That makes it sound like seeing 21 was either a bug or a UI bug (showing 21 but only actually 20, I never bothered to count how many assignments I had running). I say this, because I have not BOUGHT any doff slots.

Now that I know I can get 3 more though, I know what I'm using some Fleet Credits for. :)

Are you sure you didn't have someone in sickbay? Sickbay shows as an assignment in progress but doesn't actually take up a slot. The same is true for the doff grinder assignments and extra refining daily assignments.

Was my first reaction when I first saw 21 some months ago - but then I was checking on it, and I am 99.99% sure I saw the thing claim 21 on the UI when I had no sickbay assignment running. Since 9.5, been 20 - pretty much all the time - though I don't know if anyone's landed in sickbay, and I've been running a full panel of doffs far less often since 9.5 (simply because using more characters, means less time to doff...)

Definitely buying those embassay extra doff slots tonight though.

Sickbay and the Tau Dewa Aide DOFF missions don't take up you slots. there may be a few other like those as well. Basically you have 20 Slots, but there are upgrades from embassy to up that to 23 slots.

the special doff recruiting mission items such as temporal beacons don't either.

That clears it up then - I have been running TD Aid missions and stuff like that now and a gain, when a Fleetmate invites us for Cell Ship access - so that would make sense as to why I would see 21.

Now that I know I can buy 3 more, I'll do that too.

So much in this game not covered in tutorials/missions (where to buy things, what's available, etc), I'm still learning almost a year in.

    Thanks All!

How far along does the Embassy have to be to access those slots?

Indeed. So in order to buy all 3 you need a T3 Embassy. If your fleet doesn't have one then you can ask for a map invite to another fleet's T3 Embassy and get the slots there.

Indeed. I actually bought yesterday from my embassy the 3 slots. But i must be honest, it feels a little pointles to me to have "only" just 3 more... :(

Just be glad they didn't raise the price for subsequent additions (dang, did I just say that out loud...?!#*%^...). Now that S9.5 increased the average number of DOffs needed for each mission, it's getting harder to actually fill 23 missions without a roster expansion or two.
