First off, Apologies everyone for a question I have no doubt that has been asked a million times. Did they decide to ever release Cardassians as a playable race? #forgivemyignorance Just a lifer that has come back to check on the game Thank you, again apologies!

Not yet, this question was asked at the Trek Radio QnA at STLV, and they said while it wasn't planned for X2 it is in the category of never say never, but it is just one of those things that are not high on the agenda to do as there are already ways to play as a Cardassian but without the Cardassian content behind it.

At this point is uncertain, however during the latest Las Vegas ST convention the Cryptic devs said that, and I quote:

"Cardassians in STO are inevitable"

So take it as you will. According to this, there is a good possibility that the Cardassians will make an appearence in STO if the game continues doing well, the question is just "when?".

Id also add to this "Cardassians as a playable race would most likely enter the game when we got to adding the Gamma Quadrant"

I would love to see the Cardassians and without me to go to Gamma Quadrant . Unfortunately, as not like the Romulans, they do not have good ships , actually in the tv show we saw only two and one modification, already one ship in the game is Galor( although you can get very very expensive)

That is true, but you do have to consider how much time has passed since the series they were in. During the J'Hem wars, they were allied with them, and the Breen. They could still have some tech that has been used in new ship designs, features, etc. So, it is always possible that they could ne making newer ship designs, and trying to build their forces back up.

That would bake sense, seeing how the Federation was in a war that caused so many loses, and looks like the enemies have changed, but the war keeps going. Therefore, the Cardies could have been building ships without being found out.
