Yes, watching one of the videos from the convention, one of the devs on the Delta Rising discussion panel said something to the effect of:
"At this point, it's unlikely that any 3rd-party ships will go into the game once all the canon ships have been added."
That probably means no Merian class from Mark Rademaker ... even though his Vesta class is AWESOME and it would likewise be cool to see the Merian in the game as a modern Miranda class.
On the other hand, since the dev discussion panel was about Delta Rising, it might also just be that no 3rd-party ships will be in Delta Rising ... but 3rd-party ships might show up after that.
Hard to know for sure based on that one comment at the convention. It would help if a dev responded here and said either, "It's possible that we'll add the Merian to STO at some point in the future" or "There will absolutely be no additional 3rd party ships in STO."

I would personally love an endgame Miranda even if it made as much sense to use as an Aquarius.
In that line of thought I also think Romulans should have the D7 as they used that ship while allied with the Klingons "The Enterprise Incident" iirc.
Additionally I think the Romulan's should either have the Kamarang available to them or a comparable ship from that time period with the LTC universal.
We see Miranda's as Frigates in the Dyson sphere. So they should be useable, although perhaps not optimal.

OK I think 10 pages of replies for this subject is sufficient.
The question/request has been made for a T6 Miranda, and there are enough replies in this thread to showcase how some players feel this would be awesome, and other players feel this would be pointless.
Both sides have had time to voice their feelings, now I am shutting down this thread to avoid any further "debate" that will turn into flame wars.
I will not be commenting on whether this will be likely or whether this has already been officially shot down cuz I have no reference from any previous interviews or statements from our staff to point in either direction.
