Season 10 Suggestions

I had an idea for Season 10, and since there wasn't a thread going yet, I figured I'd start one.


Suggestion:

Ship Upgrades have been promoted as a way for the current top tier ships to compete with the new T6 ships in some way. Assuming that the new ships are going to have higher hulls and better shield modifers, what if post 50, we make the ships stats be independant of ship, and instead be tied incrementally to the level of the Captain. So at 51 it is a flat bonus to whatever ship you pilot to all the ship stats, be it a Miranda, a Risan Corvette, or a Fleet Odyssey. This bonus would grow as your level grows, changing the Hull, Standard Shield, Shield Modifier, Turn Rate, Impulse Modifier, and Bonus Power Ratings of a ship to bring them on Par with a T6 ship. These bonuses would be turned off by a programming flag on a T6 ship when a T6 ship was used the bonuses for being higher then 50 do not apply.

If we want to get really C R A Z Y it adds a weapon slot to the rear facing at 55 and the front facing at 60, with an extra console added to the ship at 53 for whichever console has the least slots available (for example in a Fleet Odyssey that would be the Tactical, for a Fleet Escort Carrier that would be a tossup that would be decided by the Devs, between Engineer and Science, although Engineer would be more useful perhaps?) I would suggest any ship that is affected by post 50 modifications be titled with Retrofit in it's ship typing in the information window.

The Devs can still add abilities other ships don't have, consoles others ships can't equip, and inherenet console like abilities other ships simply will never have, that T6 ships can be celebrated for, but this will allow our unique, and awesome ships from T4 and T5 to compete at the higher levels without taking away that unique T6 power, and without charging us out the yazoo in Zen or dilithium for upgrading our ships in some way.

    Anyone wonder if they will add the spot where the caretaker array left all the less fortunate captured ships?

    Like with Wolf 359, and the Romulus system?

    Further refinment of my idea....

    2 extra consoles,
    an unspecified amount of more hull/shields equalling 100% of the T6 increase.
    2 extra Boff slots

    51: Hull/Shield/Acc increase by 10%
    52: Hull/Shield/Acc increase by 10%
    53: Hull/Shield/Acc increase by 10%
    54: Hull/Shield/Acc increase by 10%
    55: Console Slot / BOff Slot / Hull/Shield/Acc increase by 10%
    56: Hull/Shield/Acc increase by 10% *
    57: Hull/Shield/Acc increase by 10%
    58: Console Slot / Hull/Shield/Acc increase by 10%
    59: Hull/Shield/Acc increase by 10%
    60: Hull/Shield/Acc increase by 10% / BOff Slot

    *Fore and Aft weapon slot if neccasary to compete with T6 ships.

    Explanations:
    This would apply to ALL ships piloted by the officer, the 2 BOffs would be his "Senior Staff" and be universal CMDR stations. The 2 Console Slots would be his "Experimental Tech Slots." A new kind of slot that would be Universal SLOTS for Consoles, capable of taking any console, Eng/Sci/Tact/Universal. These could be left equipped on the Captain's Screen independant of the ship screen. A T6 ship could then be an equivilant to a T5 ship wiht slightly improved stats and nifty new tricks such as new lance-like weaponry, console like tricks (TP, side slipes in combat, maybe some Team Tricks, etc), and other stuff that is T6 only will still be T6 only but the boost that represents the experience, and utility of having a Fleet Admiral leading you, well that should come from being a Fleet Admiral, not what ship you happen to be in...
