...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

'...I can tell you that we're not in the military and that we intend no harm to the whales.' Kirk: The Voyage Home
'Starfleet is not a military organisation. Its purpose is exploration.' Picard: Peak Performance
'This is clearly a military operation. Is that what we are now? Because I thought we were explorers!' Scotty: Into Darkness
'...The Federation. Starfleet. We're not a military agency.' Scotty: Beyond
'I'm not a soldier anymore. I'm an engineer.' Miles O'Brien: Empok Nor
'...Starfleet could use you... It's a peacekeeping and humanitarian armada...' Admiral Pike: Star Trek
Yes, we know it had a cat lady with 3 TRIBBLE. Something other than that. :P
I'll start - I actually liked the story.
Something positive...Uhura became a stripper without losing her dignity. Spock nerve pinched a horse. And Sybok died. All high points.
My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.
I liked the Kirk/Spock/McCoy scences, very TOS-like.
Interactions between crew members where unusual familiar for a TOS movie IMO, but i liked it.
"...'With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured...the first thought forbidden...the first freedom denied--chains us all irrevocably.' ... The first time any man's freedom is trodden on, we're all damaged. I fear that today--"
- (TNG) Picard, quoting Judge Aaron Satie
Some great Kirk/Spock/McCoy interactions, perhaps some of the best of the film series, especially around the camping trips and brig scene.
Then there's the classic "I know this ship like the back of my hand" scene with Scotty (promptly followed by a close encounter with a support beam). Makes me laugh every time.
And can you really beat the whole meeting God and asking him what he needs with a Starship piece?
Then to round it off, there's the first signs of peace with the Klingons and Checkov paying rather close attention to the muscles of a certain Klingon Officer.
So that's four postives as I count it for a film that had great potential based on its plot line.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
Some of the sequences with Kirk, Spock, and McCoy...
1. At the beginning especially when Kirk is blasted by Bones for risking his life needlessly. Then Kirk saying that he knew he wouldn't die because they were with him.
2. The sequence where Sybok is showing their pain...
3. kirk's best quote from the movie.
That is it really...The premise was interesting but should have been handled differently...
There were a lot of fragments I liked, but the best has to be the scene McCoy is forced to relive, where it is revealed to us the heartbreaking moment when as doctor and son he decides to spare his father further suffering...only to find a cure is discovered mere months later.
It is one of the more powerful moments in the Trek films which unfortunately gets lost in all the mess that is the rest of the film.
All of the scenes with Kirk, spock and bones together. Seriously, I could just watch the whole movie of those three at that campfire.
Some truly great ideas, asking us about why we believe in what we do, what it means to search for our place in the universe and are we ready to meet our creators?
What does God need with a Starship?

A Romulan Strike Team, Missing Farmers and an ancient base on a Klingon Border world. But what connects them? Find out in my First Foundary mission: 'The Jeroan Farmer Escapade'
After watching it with commentary from Bill & Liz Shatner and learning that a lot of what they wanted to do didn't make it in, I can now fill in the gaps. It has become my favourite now. And I agree with all of you that the character interaction was great. The only thing that bothers me now is that they were on Earth. I like it better when the Enterprise is 'out there'.

Yes that scene was very draining for DeForest Kelly who had recently loss his own father at the time. It's said he needed to have time alone just after filming that scene to recover a bit. Interesting stuff.

And Scotty knocking his head; "I know this ship like the back of my hand!" *THUD* :P
Trials of Blood and Fire
Moving On Parts 1-3 - Part 4
In Cold Blood
Plot is interesting
Some of the best Kirk-Spock-McCoy banter in the original six films.
And it made a good basis for a Foundry mission!

"What does God need with a starship?"
Does that count?
This.

Parallels: my second mission for Fed aligned Romulans.

What? No. You're crazy. It went straight from IV to VI.
