Hi Guys and Gals,
I am currently at lvl 42 Fed and am now starting to focus on endgame. I have done quite a bit of research on my final target build and would like some feedback from those that are more hands on experienced.
Basic Nutshell: I'm going for a 75%-85% PvE build with some flex for PvP when needed..
Current target ship for this build is a Patrol Escort Refit with the view to upgrade to the Fleet version later..
My main concern is the consoles and weapon type (Phaser + Tetyron) choices and also if them or any of the other ship tech have been superseded with better options for my goals...

All feedback welcome but please keep it constructive

Mixing two energy types
Mixing cannons and beams
You went phaser but aren't using the nadion bomb console
Beams in aft but no beam abilities
Missing hydro console and a heavy phaser turret
Skills need an overhauling
Doffs are missing and you have ground traits slotted
Weapon mods are dmgx3 crith...which is just horrible. Acc for pvp or critd for pve.
Only one eptX ability is a tad foolhardy
It's fine for pve, but you would get stomped in pvp.
A2b is the best choice for the fpe-r. I'll make a build after I see the doffs your running

Haven't thought of DOFFs yet so any suggestions in that area would also be appreciated..
To be honest I'm a returning player and haven't played since season 4. All I have been doing is leveling and now I'm closer to 50 I have hit a learning curve that seems to be straight up !!

Ah...best suggestion u have us to join a fleet where there are people to help you through the curve. You are welcome to join mine of course. Link to the thread is in my signature with the fleet admiral's handles.
All my criticisms are advice, if you wish for me to explain things further, just ask. Of course it's easier to ask questions and have them answered on team speak....*hint hint, nudge nudge
Cheers

I have my own fleet as I'm a pretty casual player and I tend to solo a lot in all MMOs... My work and location have a lot to do with that... which also makes catching people on voice an issue also...
However I could defiantly use the help...
One thing I did just think of... Is it better to have multiple builds.. Ie. Ships + BOFFs + DOFFs and just focus on a flexible skills build that can cater for PvP & PvE??

Most definitely.
I have a ship for 1v1. A ship for arena, and a ship for pve.
The loadout system is pretty borked but you can make it work for you if you swap starship rather then swap loadouts...just remember to change traits
Here's my universal build
Built based on extensive testing from myself and others compiled data. I can try to answer any questions you may have regarding it

If you want tet for shield drain, forget it. Put on the tet glider borg set and stick to phasers and it will drain consistently; around 20-30 per hit depending on your flow caps.
Both phaser and tet are about useless in pve. Phaser's random shutdown of a system don't matter in pve, and tet shield drain can either be replaced as I said or you can just dps the shields off.
I would either stick to phasers which allow elite fleet weapons, core bonus, and undine set bonus, or pick from {polaron, antiproton, rom plasma/plasma, disruptor} depending on how you want to build. Polaron requires the lobi JH set. AP requires a lot of crit and crit damage. Rom plas is a pretty straightforward rep and fleet gear based build.
If you want to pvp, make a pvp build. It will be *more than fine* for pve: pvp opponents are smarter and tougher than anything in pve and if you can beat them, you can beat pve content easily. PVE builds are really just glass cannons of a sort; you can get away with a lot less durability and crank the dps up a few more clicks. You need some durability in pve but not at the same levels because pve enemy don't use the more exotic attacks often -- for example you can get away in pve without an escape from GW/tractors as they are uncommon and mostly harmless when they do happen.
note that in a few months we may have a total gear reset, so spending big to get a build may be questionable at this point. You may prefer to make an exchange/loot build for now and hoard lobi/dil/ec/fleet cred/etc for future higher quality items.
for ur aft weapons dont use beams but turrets as u want to only fight enemys with ur front as an escort with cannons. the integrated back cannon isnt that important, u can use it when u stand right inside the gate in ise e.g. but that weapon is decoration for the most part.
if ur tactical consoles are all the fleet spire consoles with + on crth (what they should be :P) then u can think about using crtd with ur weapons.
also u should implement the zero point module console, its a very good one
if u stick with phasers, you should look at the undine reputation, you can use the phaser turret and the universal console to get a damage-buff for phaser and disruptor. also the complete undine space set isnt that bad for escorts but u can also go with 2x assimilated and fleet shield. maybe think about using the maco resilient shield as it would give you some energy-bonus.
you could also change ur engi-skills a little to utilize epts1 and eptw2, you would need 3x damage control engineer as doffs to reset the cds of the abilities so u can use them all the time
and add a warpcoreengineer to that who gives u extra energ if u use an emergency power.
here, i added something, this is what i would do if i would fly her with phasers and non-a2b: http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?build=fssgsh_0
i changed some equip, added the traits and changed some skills + added doffs to description.
if you want you can also add me ingame if you want to ask something: @zunaguli
ps: i would recommend though to replace ur phasers with disruptor, way more powerful in pve build would stay the same though, undine bonus if for phaser and disruptor the same
or u try out the new xindi phasers, heard those can pack a punch too
but keep in mind: my idea isnt good for pvp, you would need other stuff like acc-modifiers and sngle target damage. but you can easily switch those, so... not that hard to go pvp with ur ship
taking into consideration what noroblad has noted about a possible revamp and that it will take a fair amount of farming and time to get to where I want to go... I think it may be wiser to focus on a nice comfy farm bus to get my banks full and look at moving to an active fleet to help ease the learning curve..
@zunagulii, I will send you a holla in game and thanks for the offer of further assistance..
