Which Species give the best DPS or Crit Damage ?

1. Federation Ships
2. Klingon Defence Force
3. Romulan Empire

In the early days the klingon were the clear winners in DPS or Crit Damage but now I'm not sure.
So I wonder who can help me figure out which one is a clear winner ?
Because I gut this question so many times and I say I have no clue, so I wonder and maybe with players help I can give them an response witch one is best...

Superior Romulan Operative: extra crit chance
    Nausicaan: Solid overall damage boost

    Human: Some extra hull healing?
Saurian: A little more power but only in banks that are low?

Full crew of nausicaans or SRO+Nausicaan will yield the best damage boost. Probably a couple of consoles' worth of boost.

Reman captain with a crew of SRO on a ship that cloaks piloted by a player that knows you don't need to fully cloak to get the ambush buff.

Agresiel and porchsong did the math. So its fact
    Chive on and prosper, eh?

Depends, are you a good witch, or a bad witch?

Any innate racial bonus, boff bonus, racial weapon availability and ship type will color what the answer is. I personally don't think that race A is necessarily better than race B.

For me it's about the player's skills.

For 'easy' DPS - Romulan Tactical in a Falchion/Scimi. Rom/tac/Scim are known for OP DPS, but by no means are they necessarily the best. Other players in everything from Fed cruisers to the Xindi carriers are seeing large damage capabilities.

But again, it's all about the players skills. There are way too many scimi's out there who can't crack 4K dps in ISE, a clear indicator that an idiot for a pilot makes for poor dps.

Talaxians...their cooking will one-shot all of your enemies.

C'mon, you saw the different uniforms on the Talaxian/Ocampa image from the convention.

On my Klink I use the Human for my token extra healing. Otherwise Nausicans and a Lethean for efficiency.

Ignore efficiency. Useless. Totally useless. It's only a bonus "at low power levels" -- meaning you bottom out your power bank, and even then you might have enough of a power bonus from reactor transfer or other skills that you NEVER see a result from that Lethean. Meanwhile you could slot another Nausicaan/SRO and get a definite boost.

While for some that is true, a small boost is fine (The alien captain skill boost is much greater). As for Humans, you forgot the subsystem repair skill boost.

Generally I would agree with you - but I do see about +2 points in aux, shields and engines. I could swap for a Naus I suppose.

absolutely no debate about it, the romulan faction is by far the highest critting faction. due to their racial traits and their faction boff traits, romulans/remans can post higher numbers than any fed or kdf could dream of. not just a little, either. a lot. its pretty disgusting how cryptic turned fed/kdf into trash factions just to sell roms. get ready for more of that when they drop over-the-top op t6 ships on us in october.

Oh yeah, that's right. So I have like a "Rainbow Coalition of Boffs" active on my ship: Human, 2 Roms, a Lethean and a Naus.

I think they plan to try and rectify things in Expansion 2 with the "new type of boff", but what they should have done from the beginning is come up with space traits for all boffs. It sucks that, unless you want to gimp yourself, you have to choose from a select few boffs, because really, who actually chooses boffs on ground traits unless you bought extra space for them?

Agreed. ALL boffs should have the chance something useful. I would also go further to say not jsut one trait per species, but 2-3 types, like the way the Roms have now.

Imho they should give boff the same treatment they gave player characters.

Have one permanent trait that's specific to a certain species (the current permanent ones like "Mental Discipline" for Vulcans, "Feline Instincts" for Caitians) and let us freely choose 2-3 traits from the rest of the (revamped/restructured) pool.

^-- This! I've wanted something like that for a long time. I enjoy a bit of an RPG at times, and some of my toons started out with certain boffs with back stories that have grown over the years. Another part of me is a collector. I want my breen, my JH, my Voth, my accolade boff, my borg, as part of my crew, but I can't. Not if I want extra damage. I have to leave them all unpacked on my reserve list and stock nausicaans in almost all slots. Where's the fun in that? It just doesn't fit my characters.

    Um...I do...

So it'll come as no surprise that I couldn't care less what DPS I pump out so long as it's enough.
