Questions on Particle Emission Plasma Torpedo

I can't seem to find any information on the forums or wiki about how this torpedo actually performs. A few questions for those who have tried it:

Is it a destructable projectile?

How does it react with spread and High Yield?

Do you think it's a decent weapon, or is it total garbage?

I wish I could help but I have not been able to play for the last few weeks, so no testing or anything, but I too am very interested in this torpedo. I really hope if it does get a single HY shot that it follows suit of the enhanced bio torp which can not be destroyed. If it's like the rom hyper plasma torp then it will only have limited pvp use but might still be good for PVE, but that's allot of ec just for a PVE torpedo.

Well, I'm impatient, so I decided to bite the bullet and just pony up the EC for one off the Exchange.

It's actually a pretty neat torpedo. It is a direct flight torpedo in both normal and spread mode, and a destructable torpedo in HY mode, so a lot like a normal Plasma Torpedo. The HY torpedo creates a bigger plasma cloud. The DoT always lands and is pretty big and does stack.

It doesn't impact very hard, but it's got a lot of over time damage from the DoT and cloud. The three second snare from the cloud is pretty nice too. Overall, it's a nice plasma torpedo option.

I just got to L15 Projectile, and the Required Duty Officer to make the Particle Emission Plasma Torpedo Launcher is listed as "R&D: Projectile Weapons". I have nearly 500 Duty Officers, and none of them fit that description. I can not find any on the Exchange by that description.

What duty officer is necessary to make this torpedo?

Take a look at the R&D Doffs tab for the names of doffs from each R&D school. They come from the Xindi lockbox (random very rares) and from the R&D Assistance assignment at the academy (random commons).
