They have said many things that have as well. And my amount of 'salt' is perfectly fine IMHO. That's kinda what I'm using to not jump to conclusions with
You said "all passionate and proud pvpers". You can not speak for all of them.
You still havent understood my point: I didnt mean all the pvpers of sto but those who actively particpate in premade-pvp and in the arena queues frequently. Since the pvp community has been decreased to a "handful pvpers left" then most of them know each other after a while.
I disagree on what you are claiming about the Devs. They are the most unreliable developpers I have ever seen. After reviewing the past 2 yaers their announcements were composed of empty promises, lies and plenty of incompetence.
The desires of their customers, or any customers of anything, aren't always rational. Some are even in conflict. Picking and choosing their desires without an objective reason falls into the category of favoritism, plain and simple. Just because they're not doing what certain individuals want doesn't mean they're not doing the right thing.
Yes, but the main issue is that they have almost never listened much less included ideas, advices or wishes from sto players in the past. If i take a look on the patch notes from the last couple of weeks I doubt that they even check their patches on how it could affect the meta game and just upload them arbitrarily. This is kinda sad and the main cause for a heavy imbalanced game play especially in pvp.
Lets take an Elite STF or a No Win Scenario as a small example: They are supposed to be accomplished in about 20 min. Nowadays a full faw scimitar team is able to finish an elite stf in under 90 sec. Meanwhile all 10 waves of the NWS can be beaten by 2 fleet patrol escort players only. I dont think that this underchallenged PvE - content, having the addition "Elite difficulty", "works as intended".
That's right. So what? I'm trying to be reasonable here. If you want to disregard my views, that's your prerogative. But I can still express them.
It is your right to be reasonable but I didnt intend to ignore your view. If you regard it under this perspective thats fine by me. But I assume you are not a pvp-player and you are just trying to defend those guys for whatever reason, arent you ?
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

That is a large contrast to my experiences. The STO devs have proven themselves to be the most reliable devs I've experienced. Reliable, thoughtful, interactive, and honest. And I've been playing MMORPGs for nearly a decade.

They don't listen to what players "want" subjectively. And for very good reason - As I've stated in the very post you quoted, sometimes, what players want isn't always rational, and sometimes even what Player A wants is directly the opposite of what Player B wants.
What they do listen to, and quite frequently I might add, is objective player wants. The desire to fix bugs, for instance. And no, just because they haven't squashed every bug in the game does not imply otherwise. There are just too many bugs in the game to focus on. For the health of the game, new content is more important than squashing less important bugs, so naturally, more bugs will arise as old bugs get squashed.

Alright...? They claim that X2's rebalancing with have a huge impact in halting power creep. It is reasonable to find out what they mean by this instead of dwelling on the assumption that power creep as it is now will still be a problem come October.

You're right, I am not a PvP player, but as with your NWS example, most of the issues you have lie in PvE as well. Issues that Geko claims will be a thing in the past.
I'm not telling everyone to take Geko's word on any of this. But I am trying to encourage everyone to give him the benefit of the doubt and see what he's talking about before flipping out. Maybe X2 will turn out to make things far better than we have it now. Maybe it'll make things 100 times worse. We won't know till we see details.
I rarely comment on here because its pure negativity and i cant be arsed, orangitis you must be blind or new to sto prime eg is one day test of new beam overload setup on tribble is pure crazy current meta is whos bo hits first wins. I will wait and see wat this new season brings before i decide,i do not and will not craft so what do i do with my 150 mil ec elachi accx3 mkxii?? Looks like they will be vendor trash mwo or tanks could be getting my money soon if this goes as bad as i believe it could, i will wait and hope to be surprised as naz said could reset everything and that could be fun figuring it all out we shall see. Sorry for jumbled sentence im on mobile and in work
And that is the final nail in the coffin. Funny how after being gone for a few months, it doesnt seem so hard to say I quit now.
The sheer time investment into what i have already obtained, completely and utterly obsoleted in a couple of months pretty much negates me ever coming back to grind ever again.
I have made a number of sporadic appearances over the last couple of months, playing super casually, but to know that I wont even be able to do that and have any chance of doing well in my mode of gameplay, makes me pretty sick.
I am not looking forward to telling my partners in crime about this one. This is extreme =/

Looool, and this is in large contrast to my experiences because all online games i played in last 10 years had better pvp content, even browser games.

If you remember in the early 90's DOOM...
They copied that pvp system where you would get all your friends to dial up you up for being the host and you'd jump in a que basically and hunt each other down. Yep their game engine was found in a dumpster labeled 90's outdated computer junk free pvp system
