That's a pretty big assumption, that people who wanted them wouldn't buy.

Would YOU buy a Curry Class?

I would. And I honestly want a Yeager and a New Orleans.

They should make it then. I bet you and the three other people who will buy it just to spite Geko will totally make up the cost. Of course, it will have to cost 50,000 Zen and they will be tier 3 ships with no customization options, so....

So... no fleet system for this expansion? There go my hopes for Delta Rising. :(

    Winning.
It's what I do. It's what I just did. It's what I'm about to do again. It's being undisputed emperor of an empire that cannot be disproved as the most powerful intergalactic empire in the entire universe; I always win, and everything I've won will definitely be won again... by me. It's my signature move, and thus, it's my signature. Problem, Sonic? Yeah, I mean you, Sonic, because you're being beat up, despite your being super. You can't even hit Shadow back, can you? Nope, he's too strong for you. Of course, I'm not Shadow, I'm the Super Emerald fueled fox that's pulling the strings; trust me, the fight would only be a few frames long if I were in it personally. Oh, and here's something for all you guys thinking you can win Last Post Wins 3.0; trust me, I'll be around a long while after the sun has already consumed the Earth while I sit out with the forum servers on Titan. Yes, I mean Titan... that comparatively little moon orbiting Saturn. It's a nice little place in a version of our solar system where the sun is a lot bigger. I mean, Mars will last longer than your precious Earth, but by then, it'll be one hot planet... and I figure Saturn's moon will be about the right temperate for a super-powered warlord. Oh, and trust me, I packed a lot of rings, and I mean a lot. Trillions, in fact, so I'll never run out of rings to power my super form. Besides, if I start to run out, I can just chaos control more rings into my reach. It's quite easy, really. You should try it. Granted, you'll never have the 7 Super Emeralds that I have in my possession, nor the Master Emerald that I've got hidden away somewhere... absorbed into my body thanks to Sonic logic, but whatever. I win. Again. I'm not kidding, either. Just check Last Post Wins, and if the last post isn't mine, it soon will be. Very, very soon. You can count on it. Seriously. By the way, if you're wondering, there's a really great Super Tails sprite sheet out there... somewhere... by some guy named shadow_91. These sprites are really great. Like, really good. Quality. Just like what I like to see in a sprite sheet. Also, credit to Joe T.E., his Sonic Battle style Super Sonic sprites have a great palette for a Super Sonic being beat up by Super Shadow, who's palette is from a Super Shadow sheet of unknown origin, but it turns out they were "borrowed" from a better sheet made by a certain Domenico. Oh, and the gif is actually a custom made super version of a similar gif, of which there are only 3 or 4 copies to be found by Google, and even then, evidently of an unknown source. Yep, it's one of those things. Stuff people have made, spread around, only for it to vanish and you to be the only person who still has a copy, not even knowing where it came from... like, literally at all. Oh, and anyone notice that Shadow's little chaos snap blast thingies are red and blue now? Yeah, I changed it. Problem, fans of purple? Yeah, I know you got a problem with that one, but you can just deal with it. After all, according to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly... alright, alright, I'll spare you the entire Bee Movie script, just Google it if you want. By the way, ever wonder how your characters would've ended up if they evolved in another universe? Yeah, that. Think about it. Ok, so you probably didn't bother reading up to here, but whatever, here's a surprise for you guys over at ESD (RP) who were crazy enough to read this: Emperor Nat of the mcfreakin' Terran Empire is gonna be right all along! The universe is gonna go BOOM! *Thumbs up to the insanity*
Oh, now don't tell me you want in on all this! Well, ok. Look this that Egg Pawn hanging outside your window, pointing his laser rifle at you, waiting for my next order. He's doing his part. He helps conquer the weak-minded. He roboticizes the weak-bodied. Heck, he even helps keep the useless people from causing any trouble, but you know what? Join. Find the closest Nataran Empire roboticization center near you and join the ranks, before the ranks find you. Oh, I know, you figure it must be so satisfying to know I basically rule the world now, and you know what? It is, but do you want to know the true definition of satisfaction? Well, let me tell you a little story. One day, you see a brand new event. They're giving out boxes that give old event stuff. Your dilithium is plentiful. You buy a whole lot of Phoenix packs on your main, and open them all. You get one epic token. Then, you decide, that since you have all the Breen ships and don't give a damn about the others, you exchange it for an ultra rare, and grab yourself a Jem'Hadar Attack Ship and for the hell of it, a Voth Bulwark. You open both, leaving the Bulwark in your vast masses of starships as you jump into the bugship and deck it out, deck by deck, into the most awesome Jem'Hadar ship you can. You fly it. You enjoy it. Eventually, you get bored and leave, leaving the old Bulwark never flown... until later. Your main is long complete. Your new alt main, based off some character you pulled out of nothing just to explain away some starship being in service without the command of your dear admiral, is also complete. Mostly. Their reps and doffs are hard at work, getting you stuff. You realize the potential, and head back for your dear admiral, pull the most Voth themed build you can out of thin air, and suit up in your giant ship in the shape of you know what. You head out... and cause all sorts of havoc. Enemies scream out your name as their very life is drained away by your swarms of Aceton Assimilators. They complain to the devs of your OPness when you revive yourself from death every time you die. Do you show any form of mercy? No. After all, this isn't the United Federation of Planets, this is mother frakkin' Starfleet, where you explore strange new worlds and kick butt never kicked before. Oh, and you realize that I just wrote another speech rivaling your own signature. Cool. Oh, wait, that's just the original draft, it is part of my signature now. Oh, and yes, I am aware that I have become a Canadian Regent; one day, sooner than you'd expect, we'll suddenly decide to take over the world and declare an "alliance", and I shall become it's Regent. You know, like the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance in the mirror universe of our beloved Star Trek. Oh, who'll we be taking over with? I dunno, maybe [REDACTED], or maybe aliens from outer space. Guess you'll have to wait and find out, won't we? Until then, don't ask too many questions, or else my Breen allies on Titania might pick up on your -- [REDACTED BY BREEN CONFEDERACY FOR REASONS] Also, psst... keep an eye out for flying Tribbles! Also walls. Big, great walls, separating entire continents apart. Walls patrolled by Tribbles. Flying Tribbles. Flying Nukara Tribbles. Don't worry, it's not like they were on Venus with a herd of Tholians or anything, they just like the extreme heat and brutal weather like acid rain and hurricane force winds as the norm. Oh, and definitely keep your eye out on any two-tailed foxes, because if they ain't glowing, they're definitely an imposter. Possibly an Undine, we caught one of those once in my place once. Oh, and if you find a two-tailed fox that doesn't like the cold... most certainly ask him to say sorry. If he refuses, DESTROY HIM WITH A DOOMSDAY MACHINE, BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING ELSE THAT WOULD BE ENOUGH AGAINST SUCH AN OVERPOWERED IMPOSTER!

tr;dr, I am winning last post wins 3.0. Thank you for your time.
    Oh, look, an explosion...

Does the Captain's Table have bridge officer retraining and captain skills respec contacts? if not, that would be good. Also they should add a security officer NPC. Basically, all the consoles and NPCs from various stations across the galaxy should be represented here. That would make it more useful.

I agree with emperorandy...I know they got away from the vet' day awards, but before season 10 talk there was rumors of new lifetimer perks...I'm assuming (or hopeful anyway) this was related to changes to the captain's table. I never read anywhere why the ship select was removed from the table some time ago, but leads to speculation they are still at least thinking about it. I would love the table to be the one stop place for life'ers to get to anything we need. A direct transwarp would be nice to not have to run over 15 - 20 ships turning at ESD also.

Man, I've been hoping for a Curry type since the game launched. The design of the ship just screams tier 5 oberth refit, and it'd be nice to have the frankenship version, and a more unified design for the fleet tier.

Of course it'd also be nice to see the Excelsior concepts which showed up as background ships at wolf359. Some of them were pretty cool.

While we're at it. I would L O V E to have the original perpetual Excalibur as a T6 Cruiser variant.
I'm aware that it isn't the most popular ship around, but i'd love to have it at least as a variant in STO. :o

Actually, to spite Geko, it would be the most successful ship release.

You can almost certainly bet that this will be the case. Of course "not suck" is a bit of a stretch - after all, a standard got-it-for-free no-MVAM Advanced Escort isn't THAT much weaker than a fleet version; it can certainly hold its own in PvE, and even in STF-level play. I am seriously doubting that the 10 levels between 50 and 60 will be more of a spike in difficulty than 40-50 was, so current 2500 Zen and certainly current fleet ships will remain usable even without the upgrade to T6.

That's kinda the STO mantra; they don't force you to move up, they just lure you there with shiny things that are slightly better. That's what makes the Dilithium currency work, as it allows you to grind up to get that next ship if you can't afford it. If the discrepancy gets to be too high, people get too frustrated, and they stop grinding. The trick is to keep the carrot close enough, and give it to them once you have reached the place you want them to go. If they don't get the carrot, they eventually stop taking you places.

    This totally.

One of the best posts ever. Absolutely correct, and i don't hate them for it, its how they make money to keep the game running.

As long as my lockbox ships can be upgraded to still be on par with T6 then i am happy. Although by the time T6 comes out i might be so in love with those that i won't care about my lockbox ships. Doubt it though.

A lot of my ships have been patiently waiting for some decent content to sink their teeth into, finally sounds like it is coming. Hopefully they won't be lacklustre by the end of it though.

This is a very impressive list of non-announcements put together by Cryptic. I mean really impressive. Think about how much of this is stuff that's not happening in the expansion:

Starts off great. Something that is coming with the expansion.

This is kind of half and half. A new system "specialization" which appears to be their version of Alternate Advancement. But also an admission that the skill tree itself is done and not advancing in the expansion.

Vague. Wish they had actually prepared details for this. I mean they had to know people would want more info right?

So so far it seems like it's been a list of stuff that's coming with the expansion. Then ...

Ok. Not happening in the expansion.

    Not happening.

    Not happening.

    Only partially happening.

    Not happening.

A bug. That will get fixed? I think?

Not happening. (Also, what exactly are 3rd party ships?)

Something that is happening. But as many MMO vets can tell you is actually NOT happening. Sorry Cryptic Devs, but MUDFLATION (which is what a new level cap and new gear in an expansion is) ... IS power creep. The same thing. So Power Creep being handled? Not happening.

Great idea that's ... not happening.

I'm resisting the temptation to rant about how this content is horribly implemented and broken in the game and has consistently been re-broken after fixes over the past few years. All I'll say is ... again, not happening.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah. Putting aside my own thoughts on the topic of exploration all I'll say is all those posts the past few weeks from posters who were totally on board with Cryptic removing content because they were hoping and/or expecting the expansion to bring new exploration? Nope. NOT happening.

This is the best (well worst) part of the information thus far. New content? Some of it is not happening. There's a good amount of REPEATABLE content. So enjoy that! But new content? Being held off until after the expansion.

    Ridiculous.

Something that IS happening. Though the process they have in place for testing and feedback on Tribble is oft-criticized. So I'm not sure I really see the point of them even releasing it to Tribble at all. Just toss it live. Like they did with the Beam Overload change!

PVP Revamp ... not happening with the expansion. Of course. I mean why would it?

Without meaningful details this is bologna.

Great gesture, but doubtful any changes to that would be done in time for the expansion. So again, not happening?

40 dev blogs about what though? Most of the ideas are things that they don't have time or resources to do. Stuff that they want to do but isn't happening.

Seems like the expansion is ... specious at best.

    Maybe I'm just too cynical.

    Then again ...

Most of your interpretation of what has been listed is based on wording, which makes your whole post completely invalid for the simple reason that the list is in the OP's own words and is not the exact wording of the devs answering the questions. if you want to do a breakdown based on wording and phraseology then you need to do it at the source not after the Chinese whispers have started.

The devs do want to eventually bring back a true exploration-type feature to the game. They need to find a smarter way to bring infinite exploration that is interesting and entertaining. Not happening in Delta Rising, though.

You just made me very happy, thank you good sir! :)

While I think your reading comprehension is a bit circumspect, you'll be happy to know I took your criticism to heart and decided to review what I wrote. Thus I went directly to the source material and listened to both of the podcasts that were at the event from which all of this information has sprung. And then compared what I wrote to what I heard from the podcasts.

And rest assured my commentary remains intact, and on point. The many things that the developers said were not happening with the new expansion, are indeed, not happening with the new expansion.

My post is incredibly valid. This isn't about words. This is about content of what the devs said at Vegas. I had no control over what questions they were asked. But going off of the answers given it appears two things have surfaced from Vegas:

1- A lot of the things players (or at the very least the specific players who run specific podcasts and thus were asking the questions) want answers on, are things that aren't slated for this expansion.

2- Much of what is slated for this expansion was not revealed at Vegas during the "big" announcement.

Luckily we have those 40 dev blogs to fall back on. I'm sure they'll begin any day now.

I wouldn't mind seeing it either. They even had one (albeit their version) in the opening cutscene for "Surface Tension".

    Very good, thank you.

I wasn't saying that you were wrong, just that there was a chance that the difference between what was said and what is related by the OP may be worded differently (completely unintentionally of course) and that could make a whole world of difference.

Especially when your response is along the lines of "Vague. Wish they had actually prepared details for this. I mean they had to know people would want more info right?", it may not have been as vague as the OP portrayed, but could have been a very basic overview of their interpretation of a better explained answer.

We all know how Chinese whispers works, great fun at parties but not so great out in the real world. This is why I tend to take anything said second hand on a forum with a pinch of salt until someone gives the information out officially.

I'm glad you went to the podcasts and checked for yourself, and I'm equally glad that the OP's was as accurate as you say it is.

I have some ideas for the captain Table, as much as we like the new Earth Space Dock we miss the old one if you could give us access in this zone to the old earth space dock it would be a great idea as a veteran reward, also give small advantage so players would want to make the detour for instance you could give us a 70% instead of 50% for resselling drop we get in game, a transwarp abilities to tath zone would be nice too, and a 10% rebate for gear tath Klingons may buy better access for kdf doff there cause not a lot are avaible at this moment on klingons side and this faction is less played by the community i think .
