Does anybody else think that ship interiors are way too large? All the bridges seem far larger than they need to be, which makes them feel more empty than bridges in the TV shows. And all the corridors are entirely too big, as well. In the shows, starships seem to do just fine with much more reasonably-sized corridors, so I'm not sure what Cryptic is going for, here.
Is this a problem with anybody else, too? Or am I just getting worked up over nothing?
This is an old conversation, but the short of it is that when they were designed they made all the set pieces over sized so that you could have a party of five plus whatever number of enemies moving about without being clumped on top of each other.
It's not myfault ifyoufeel trolledbymyDisco ball...Sorry'boutit.
The devs calim they couldn't make it smaller, because they feared it would cause camera problems...
(instead of restricting camera distance to a reasonable level.)
Beta testers obviously could live with such goofy looking interiors, but not without zooming 2km away from their character, lol.
I wonder what people where beta testing STO and if they ever heard of Star Trek...
"...'With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured...the first thought forbidden...the first freedom denied--chains us all irrevocably.' ... The first time any man's freedom is trodden on, we're all damaged. I fear that today--"
- (TNG) Picard, quoting Judge Aaron Satie
The interiors are a bit too large, but selecting the smallest size does help shrink it a bit.
About the most authentic ship interior is the Belfast bridge for the Defiant-class (but it lacks the account bank every other bridge has), and I think the Prometheus bridge is probably the best of the 'standard' bridge packs you can buy.

Like most things, beta testers where simply shot down when mentioning size of corridors, plus, starship bridges and layout weren't beta tested but where added at launch quickly.
So this is today's deadbeat horse of the day...
Yeah it's an old topic that will never see any advancement since interiors are pretty much the bottom on cryptic's priority list (if they are even on there).
That's rather disappointing, I will admit. But, I suppose I should have expected it. Ah well, at least I know that I'm not the only one annoyed by this.
The interiors looks like s**t for example the sovy bridge doesnt even have any similarities with the bridge seen in the movies. It would be nice aswell if we could get an TNG , VOY and ENT bundle like the DS9 and TOS bundles and that the displays would show your ship and not just some random ship. I would pay loads of zen for proper interiors.

I admit i don't visit my bridge much and my ship interior hallways even less. (except for my TSAB, because it's such a cool interior)
And doesn't the Ferengi Marauder have a small, even claustrophobic bridge for a Frigate?
With most interiors, no.
Its something that seemed broken since I started 2 years ago.
