After watching Episode 91 of STOked, I realized I did have a question I ment to ask, that might have been perfect with AL being there.. Which also lead to, while I was typing it up, a suggestion for Carriers.
I considered posting this in the carriers thread. But I'm not sure if it should go directly there. I'm sure if it should it'll get moved.
That being said, below is the question and suggestion I wish I had asked. So if a Developer, or Al himself does read this and has the answer, I hope to see it/hope it gets posted or hope it gets asked of the right person.
With the more recient upgrades to Cruisers, and Raiders, and soon to be coming upgrades to Science ships (Double deflectors), will there be anything done to help improve Carriers as a Ship class (Vor'quv for example) to where they are more unique?
The Reason I ask this is because I feel currently, while yes their uniqueness comes from their Size, and their ability to launch pets, as well as target subsystems, that uniqueness feels like its been diluted due to other ships (Galaxy-X, "Flight Deck Escorts", or "Flight Deck Cruisers" for example) having the same ability, even if in a lesser form.
Which also makes me wonder if maybe Carriers couldn't have special AOE heal like powers? Or, to further delve into that idea, perhaps have a special ability that turns any Targetable heal, instead into an PBAOE when used from that ship. For example: Hazard Emitters released a Hazard like Heal Over time Aura that can heal ships out to 5km or 7km away, centered on you.
This could also be perhaps instead of limited to heals, perhaps changed to any "Buff" effect might be PBAOE, so that way, once again, your not just helping your Pets, but your helping your team as well. Making Carriers into the Team Friendly Ship.
And while I understand that Carriers do have a heal friendly pet. It is Fragile. And I don't personally feel it is useful in places like an STF, or the larger Zones due to the massive amounts of AOE Fire that happens in those zones which eaisly crushes pets like that one.

Carriers really need some some abilities to help the to stand out from all the escort carriers, flight deck carriers and dreadnoughts with hangars.
buffing and healing pets would be a good point to start since pets are pretty much the whole point of a carrier. Something like the cruiser commands but only for the pets, to give them slight buffs for specific things like weapons, shields and stuff.
As for the built in sub-system targeting... as long as it shares a cooldown with all other beam boff skills it's pretty much pointless... both on scis and carriers.

Uhm... little confused by this.. because Carriers have always had Subsystem Targeting (The vor'quv and the Atrox are the best examples)
I wasn't suggesting that they have it in the suggestion part of the OP... Since they already do...
