Ships appear as if they're in the movie Tron

I've seen a number of ships in game that look as if they have a neon effect, different colors. All different ships and factions. Is there a console that does this?

    It's an effect of the Aegis set.

    AEGIS. Actually, the visuals for the shield on AEGIS were in part inspired by TRON, so you've hit the nail on the head.

    Its most likely ships using the Aegis set that is available at set levels of crafting. You will also find them for sale on the exchange.

    Honorable mention: Veterans can skin their ships with a "neon"-like striping, too. (And, yes, the AEGIS set adds a glow, too.)

    Actually, the Veteran skin has a similar effect as well, although not as bright.

    some of my fed and romulan ships have the neon effect and i do not use aegis or vet skins my rom runs the solanea set from the FE and my fed runs the undine rep space set.

    Outside ship textures alterations from the ship tailor, there are ship deflectors, engines, shields that will change the look of your ship. Not all of them do, but a number can. Shields are the ones that change the most the appearance of your ship.

    Solanae Shield has no changes.

    Rom/reman shields give greenish or blue colors to the ship, nukara's got a texture change, but no color change. borg shields make your ship look partially assimilated.

    the rom, its most likely the skin you use, some of the rom ones have glowy effects in the right lighting angles.

    Don't forget the Mirror War-birds have their own look and color more black/bronze look to them.

    It does have a color change, it turned my ship that dark metallic blue of tholian ships. It also changed my nacelles yellowish-orange.
