PvEvP scenario: Defend the transport/starbase

Two opposing teams must defend their transport/starbase while trying to destroy the opposing team's.

Environmental hazards could begin to appear after a 10 minute stalemate. Increasingly difficult "support" mobs. Gravity wells, tykens rift, asteroids.

It practically designs itself.

Thoughts?

    I have wondered from time to time if Cryptic would ever do a SotA sort of thing with alternating starbase assaults. Randomly determine which team assaults first, have both teams do the assault, and the team with the fastest assault wins...

    There's all sorts of scenario type play out there from other games...

    ...but usually when it comes up, folks prefer to focus more on different maps for Arena play instead.

    Heh, Battleground Heroes vs. Arena Junkies and all that. ;)

    Years ago they had something like this on tribble, but it never made it out. Since they ended "the war" I don't see them doing any kind of scaled PvP. That delusion was pretty much over when Gozer & Heretic left.

    The reason it went bye bye is because people were not happy with the fact that low levels could go into it and get stomped by higher levels.

    which honestly who cares? If you go into it and it's pretty much open pvp you're asking to die. That's your fault, not the systems but alas...the people that didn't like it won and I bet that code is still in there unused..

    when only npcs are the bad guy, its pretty hard to create an RP reason for any sort of pvp expanded game type. perfect excuse to remove it entirely, thankfully they didn't go that far.

    that spire control pve mission, instead of you vs voth, it should be player team vs player team, that would be a perfect thing to convert over to pvp. and those pi cantis raides, 1 team tries to kill them before they cross the map, and the other tries to keep the transport alive. more then even in regular pvp, a healer would have even value


    i just hope one day they realize they have built so much pve that there aren't enough hour's in a month to do it all, and that maybe they don't need to make any more new pve content. just freshening old and revamping it at most, but the game has enough new qued pve content, for real. thats the day they consider doing something like this for pvp.
