Hey everyone!
Just wanted to see if people would be interested in attending an advanced session on teamhealing.
Why Attend?
As of lately, it's become easier and easier to play as a PvP teamhealer in STO. I hope to help those who want to get ahead of the curve by providing them with the knowledge and hard earned experience they need to be effective teamhealers. And also, cause we need less escorts.
Are there any prerequisites?
You must be a PvP Boot Camp (PvPBC) graduate. This is typical of any Advanced Class in PvPBC. Additionally, Coaches and Volunteers with PvPBC are also eligible.
Who are you again?
I'm stardestroyer001. I'm a PvPBC Coach for... a while, I lost track, and I mostly fly cruisers and other phat ships. I LOVE to teamheal, although I admit, playing as a sci debuffer or sci CC is also a great deal of fun.
Why are you teaching this?
I'm planning to leave the game come September, so I feel I should pass on my knowledge to others. And I've always wanted to help people.
What can I learn?
I would be covering everything from the ground up, specifically for teamhealing. As opposed to the general PvPBC, which covered just a little bit of teamhealing with an Engi+Cruiser, I'll be offering a larger spectrum of teamhealers and different, even unconventional ways of setting up a teamhealing character with their ship of choice. And I'll be offering an affordable way to teamheal and be effective at it.
(Note that everything in this list is not finalized. I may remove or add content. This is just an overview!)
1) Theory
Everything in BLUE is stuff that can also be found at STOWiki. Everything in YELLOW is stuff I teach personally and, AFAIK, isn't taught anywhere else.
Skill Tree (Optimized for teamhealing)BOFF abilities
Captain abilities (Eng AND Sci, I like both)
Ship EquipmentPassives (DOFFs, traits, etc)
Team BuffsHUD and Keybind setup
Picking a Ship (what to pick/not to pick)
Different Types of Heals
Synergy (buffs and abilities and equipment working together)Combatlog 1
2) Practice
How these individual elements come together.
(This part would have some actual practice in an arena map, like Briar Patch/Cracked, to demonstrate game mechanics)
Specific DOFF/BOFF combinations, an application of Synergy
Timing your heals
Range
Which heals to hit and when
Good/bad habits
Healing around SS/AMS/baseball, etc
"Turtling"/Evasion
PvP for extended time
Combatlog 2
3) Extra Information
Minmaxing heals
Hilbert's Leaderboard and Healing
Alternative/theoretical builds
IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:
This is tentative.
I will ONLY run this class if 3+ people show interest and can commit to the day/time.
I'm thinking of running this on August 30 OR September 6, at 3pm EST - stay tuned as I decide which day.
Side note: If there's another PvPBC Coach who wishes to teach this class with me, I am all for that! Or if Coaches/Volunteers wish to attend, you're more than welcome to.

Hi Hilbert. Basically that section is going to cover "healing for the team" versus "healing for the heal numbers" and the differences between the two as recorded by your Leaderboard program. ie, if someone wanted to get higher up on the leaderboard, or know how effective they are doing as a teamhealer, they would be taught how to read the character stat page and combat overview page.
Well if we get enough people, you're more than welcome to switch to an escort or sciship so the students would have some enemies to practice against.
