How is the Bug doing these days?

With the release of the Fleet patrol and now xindi (not to mention the Hirogen hunter) how is the bug holding up. TBH I see it at a disadvantage. When its talked about in chat alot of people still defend the bug (maybe they got one on the exchange). Anyways, has the bug been dethrowned? Out of all these I mentioned, I personally like the Fleet patrol because of the extra Lt commander spot but, that 5/2 xindi weapon layout makes a guy think. So who reins king?

It's still a very capable Escort indeed.

But u are right that u have a lot more ship option now for, A LOT LESS EC...

Diversity is a good thing though. And the other ship types you mentioned just have slightly different strengths in different areas is all.

And lets not forget, the newer Escorts are more A2B friendly.

In case you need your escorts spoon-fed to you, sure slap A2B on them.

I don't think they are doing very well. Even just today, I was able to hunt down 3 different kdf Bug alone in Kerrat, and in one case, repetitively. And I use kinetic weapons primarily. The new Xindi escort or even the Udine bioship are more likely to make me pause than the Bug ships and that says quite a bit about this overpriced ship.

still has the highest mobility potential, and when you take your "superior" AtB escorts up against it and cant get any decent cannon arc time on target, wile it can against you, you will wish you went with AtD instead.

if a healers is around, that pretty easily makes up for the less heal uptime it has vs AtB escorts too.

It's funny how you always forget to mention the corvette when speaking about top escorts. With its extreme mobility/defense potential it can easily chew up any a2b/a2d lockbox/c-store ship and to some extent be on par with the bug.

    Risian corvette
    Hull: 27,000
    Shield Modifier: 0.9

    fleet brel
    Hull: 27,225
    Shield Modifier: 0.88

    Plesh Brek
    Hull:29,700
    Shield Modifier:0.88

    Jem'Hadar Attack Ship
    Hull: 34,500
    Shield Modifier: 1

as long as its not getting shot at, its great! but that lack of basic spike soak on the risan as a pretty big negative. its got raider durability, with no BC. it isn't quite perfect like the bug.

Indeed the vette is simply far to squishy. Sure it moves, of course if you get slowed down your pretty much dead just like a bop that can't run.

Xindi - Hunter - Bug and even the Elachi.

Are all solid escorts with differences, I don't think any of them is really any better then the other. They all have the potential to be great depending on the build and pilot combo.

    D,

    this..

I have the new patrol on my fed and the jhas on my kdf. The jhas is still a very good escort and the faster one, but the new escorts are very good replacement if you do not have it... slower, but more resistent. 1 vs 1 with good build, everything depend on players and some lucky critical hits. However I must admit if I should buy a new ship, I will buy the xindy escort or the cheaper patrol escort refit for a fed.
