New Crafting System Inquiry

I couldn't really find a better place to put this, moderators please move if it's in the wrong spot.
I'm wondering if there's a good place to farm crafting materials with the new crafting system. Used to I would simply go into a nebula and farm the systems there while doing "To Boldly Go" but, for some unknown reason to me, the DEVS, in their brilliance, removed those regions with this last update.
So, does anyone know how best to farm for the new materials? Luckily I had a stockpile of about 500 of each of the old crafting materials but I'll be in need of a steady supply eventually.
Don't take this as me hating the new system. I absolutely love the idea of the new system, I just need to know the best way or secrets you may have found to harvesting decent amounts of materials.
