[PvP Dmg] mod?

Looking at some of the new weapons and see this [PvP Dmg] mod. What the heck is this then?

    Never did find an answer while it was on Tribble, just what the two PvP mods actually do...

    They generate more rage and cries of nerf, and point out that their tooltip is missing.
    Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

    [PvP Dmg] provides 3% (bonus, extra) damage - it's contained in "info" but evidently missing from the tooltip.

    I'm assuming it doesn't stack right? They come with crit chance or sev in addition to the damage, that times 8 can't be a thing... Right?

    [PvP Dmg] - More worthless than the regular [Dmg] mod.

    You can get plasma disruptor hybrids with crafting. Just get a plasma with the [Pen] modifier. Voila!

    [PvP Res] +5 All Damage Bonus Resistance Rating
    [PvP Dmg] +3% All Damage

    Now here's the problem, imho...those mods are...not weapon mods. They're both bonus mods...they're like gear mods. Thing is, equipping either does not change any stats anywhere.

    So just what exactly do they do? There's been no info from the devs on this, and they really need to speak up on what these mods are.

    Are we looking at mods that can stack? So it would be possible to stack multiple weapons with the [PvP Dmg] mod for more than just the +3%? +6%? +9%? +12? Etc, etc, etc...the same for the [PvP Res] mod? +10 DBRR? +15 DBRR? Keeping in mind that a +X% All Damage is a Bonus boost rather than a Strength boost and that DBRR should not be confused with DRR - (check out rbaker82's post for the brainmelting breakdown).

    And then, if so, where exactly do these stats show? I went to Ker'rat, and there was nothing. Will the stats show on an actual "PvP" map? Do I need to copy a toon on a second account over to Tribble so I can do a 1v1 challenge to get on a "PvP" map to see the boosts in play? Do they not show up at all that we can - and - rather they are behind the scenes calculations that take place while fighting other players?

    For something potentially as major as this...now is not the time for Cryptic to be so cryptic.

    Pen is actually an inline adjustment that ignores damage resistance rather than something that places a damage resistance debuff on the target.

    The [Thrust] mod doesn't change any stats when equipped, either. Do these only work while the weapon is firing? Do they even work at all? Who knows

    Reminds me of flanking and the awful way that was implemented.

    Anyway it seems like this will be calculated when the calculations that are dependant on the target are being made. For instance in the way that the damage check is made for the Assimilated Tractor beam, 'has the target been hit by a KCB in the past x seconds? if yes X4 damage' , that sort of thing.

    But notice they're "gear mods"...so it raises the question of stacking, eh? 8x [PvP Dmg] for +18% All Damage? 8x [PvP Res] for +40 All Damage Bonus Resistance Rating?

    All sorts of fun questions!!!

    these mods are a big reason why this is season 9.3, not 9.5. id bet there is exactly 0 code behind these mods what so ever at this point, and MAYBE, these might eventually get filled out, and do something.

    Meh, it just feels there were one to four blogs that were missing for the S9.5 drop...
