[arc] options

It sounds to me that the only [arc] beams available from the r&d system are [acc] [arc] [dmg] meaning that there is no chance of making one like [arc] [crtd]x2. I think I would rather keep my turrets.

Am I missing something is the arc modifier only available on the special weapons?

    you can only have one of the [arc] weapons equipped at a time anyway, you cant have multiples, even if they are different energy types.

    Will we be able to equip an R&D [Arc] weapon at the same time as the quest reward omni-directional AP array?

    I'm assuming the answer is no, but never hurts to find out...

    You can have one and only one 360 degree beam weapon on a ship, regardless of its source.

    I saw one with 4 mods on exchange! Had [pvpdam] as well as the usual 3.

    I know you can only have 1 [arc] at a time, I would just rather that one be more useful than [acc] [dmg]. Otherwise I think my turret would do better for me.

    really? I run the omni ap all the time, and i find it better than a turret.

    The problem is that they're miscategorised. They're halfway between being a new type of weapon distinct from regular beam arrays (including unique icons), and just being conceptually a standard beam array with an [arc] mod.

    I mean having [arc] as a mod suggests there's a version of those weapons without it?

    Personally I'd have just added them as an entirely new class of weapons, with similar DPS to cannon turrets. Maybe keep the super damage 1-per-ship versions as lvl 15 unlocks.

    Its a lot to do with the rest of your build.

    Gone all in to cannon, then the turret may well make sense over the omnibeam.

    However, flying a beam boat, the omni will winhands down.
