I've been playing this game for a long time now and wasn't going to say anything, but I just read an article about how gaming is starting to clue in that color blindness is a problem for many gamers--especially since it's so easily correctable. For me playing STO, it's the color coding of the rarity of items and officers. I have a hard time distinguishing blue and purple which can make a huge difference when I go to sell or use something. Strangely, all the items have actual text in their descriptions that identify the rarity (or lack thereof) while none of the officers (Bridge or DOFF) have anything. I usually have to ask someone in my house to identify the color. My Bridge Officer queue is full of officers that may be either Rare or Very Rare, and I can't tell. All that's needed is a single line of identifying text in the info box just like the items have.
STAR TREK ONLINE Our ongoing Mission:
--> To constantly seek better ships
--> To acquire and upgrade bigger weapons
--> To boldly grind what everyone has ground before.
Nitpicking is a time-honored tradition of science fiction. Asking your readers not to worry about the "little things" is like asking a dog not to sniff at people's crotches. If there's something that appears to violate natural laws, then you can expect someone's going to point it out. That's just the way things are.

If they have two Superior traits, they're purple or better. It's not actually important what color boffs are anyway, because what matters are two things: Their traits, and their unique skills, if any. If none of these things are of any worth, they're all equally worthless!
You're honestly probably better off here. Otherwise you'd fall into the trap of believing purple Gorn exist. They don't. Purple Gorn are identical to Blue Gorn, just as you see them.
