Renegade BOff

Finally got one of my Klingons to rank 4 in Marauding and went to claim my Vulcan BOff. Was there any reason given as to why the only choices are Andorian, Human, Ferengi and Trill and not all of the fed races? Totally disappointed here!

    They rushed a TON of TRIBBLE out the door when this game was "launched"...

    You'll note you still can't change the clothes or appearance on those boffs all these years later, either.

    I was disappointed as well.

    If you buy the miner outfit you can change their appearance

    Tip for the costume bug; if you have the Miner outfit or Hirogen Hunter armour, those costumes can be used to modify the BOff's appearance, with the caveat that you're stuck with the off-duty shirt. The problem seems to be somewhere in the boots and for some reason those two options are the only ones the editor will recognise for Marauders. I have been able to use this for my Human-who's-really-a-Klingon-Augment BOff, who sports a partial set of Hirogen armour. At least he's got a suitable complexion and facial hair.

    At a guess,As to the choice of races, I think it's the Federation races which the Klingons actually respect, plus the Ferengi who are at least tolerated for their specialist skills.

    Andorians are a warrior culture themselves, and in at least one alt-universe formed a coalition with the Klingons instead of Earth. Individual Humans and Trill have been shown onscreen to be held in relatively high regard (Kirk, Dax, Picard).

    Ferengi... well there's Pharh from the novels as a precedent at least. :)

    There are other races who could fit in - Bajorans are an obvious one, Vulcans as well - but from a Klingon perspective most of the other Federation races are just jegh'pu'wi.

    Bah... Ferengi...

    The most untrustworthy of any race. It seems almost 40% of Federation defectors I have on my Hegha'ta Heavy BoP are Ferengi. I have 4 clones of Meritta; a rare Ferengi security officer, 3 clones of Rogink; a rare Ferengi Trader and one Koripo; a very rare Ferengi Trader. I haven't spaced any them (unlike Ferengi prisoners) because they are at least somewhat useful.

    But to put a Ferengi on a KDF Bridge? Bah!!! I rather put an accursed Tribble in charge of one of my universal stations than a Ferengi.

    Hey, now! Kodor The Tribble has a 95% accuracy on the torpedo aiming station! Let's not tarnish his honor in heated combat, lest you invoke his wrath in a duel to the death.

    Check out Tribble. This is no longer true. Boffs will work right now and before anyone ask no the can't wear Starfleet uniforms but everything is gravy.

    Well, annoyed right now. Got a Ferengi to give to one of my fleet mates, only to find out the damned thing is untradeable. Can't mail it or trade it in person. Now I'm stuck with one of those damned things in my roster. I could have sworn they were tradeable.

    Is there any way to return the Ferengi to the Nausican and get my token back in the hopes they add the other races in the future?
