Hello everyone, let me just cut right to the chase: I quit playing STO quite some time ago, and now I've been feeling the itch to play it again, to the point of rolling a new character to re-learn everything.
But I still have my old main toon, and I'd like to find out if the build i've got for him is still viable/useful. Mostly because i'd hate for all the hours put into him to go to waste.
So I loaded up the Gateway and copied everything I could get onto THIS:

the above link has his Ship, Traits, Skills, and Boffs all filled in as they sit right now.
i'd like to hear 2 things from you guys: How good/bad is it as it is, and how could it be improved?
looking forward to hearing your thoughts

unfortunately, while I am going to be playing agian, i dont plan on devoting much time to the game. certainly not enough to contribute to a Fleet
anyone else care to weigh in?
Not sure what to make of that build. Why not move the Ex beam to the rear and use 4 front DBBs? Far more focuses DPS. Was there a reason to have a Tac 2 and Torp High Yield 1? I would swap them around. There are a lot of new traits to look at.
what you already got there is fine for pve content without a fuss.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
dont know why your running the jem 2 set when your running rom plas unless its to stop crew loss crew does f all when in combat. you might be better running the KHG set or adapted maco as it called fed side boost torp 25% dmg plus boues to crew replacement when in combat or out of combat
During that weekend each day a quick ISE will give approaching 4000 dil for 5 mins play, whereas dps superstars will do it in a minute.
There is an AP space set that includes a 360 degree beam and a warp core that directly boots AP damage, both free with mission replay

I think i remember your name from a few months ago...i cant remember if i was giving you gear advice or if you were giving me advice hehe. I actually recently came back myself thats and your thread was one of the first ones i saw.
Anyways, looking at at your stoacademy link i think that if you have access to the Rom Plasma gear you should go with that. I have a Scim in full RomPlas beam arrays, KCB and some other stuff and doing the old borg ESTFs is still kinda fun. Below is a link to my build

Only thing i think i messed up on is taking two tac teams and two BFAW when it's an Aux to Batt boat (A2B). Also all my BoFFs are Superior Romulan Operative and i have one Reman BoFF that has Subterfuge. I hear that with this you can have BoFFs that are basic Romulan Operative and you'll be fine. I also have 3 very rare Technician doffs (10 of 10 x3) and an EPTx Damage Control Engineer DoFF. I dont know if anything has changed but last i checked the technician doffs were needed if you plan on running an A2B boat. You could go with an old school x2 EPTS and x2 EPTW and some torpedo boff abilities and run a DHC boat with the Rom launchers too, my alt that also has a Scim runs that setup and it's still pretty decent.
Dont be afraid to post on the Romulan Shipyards subforum to get build advice. Only thing i would check on is if your ship and BoFF layout is good enough for the new Voth and 8472 content. I stopped playing when the Dyson Sphere stuff was released and IIRC because of the abilities enemy NPCs had people had to rework some of their boff abilities (ie taking science team to counter Voth abilities).
