Frequent Gray "Begin Assignment" Button

I'm noticing most of the science and exploration DOFF missions I'm finding have the Begin Assignment button grey'd out and un-clickable for no obvious reason. All requirements are met, and the DOFFS are not already in another mission, yet the button remains gray.

It is worth noting this is only happening on the new character recently created specifically for testing the new crafting phase. This new character is currently Centurion (14), and my assumption is the bug lies in the fact these missions reward crafting resources but since R&D is still unavailable until (15), these missions are being flagged as "gray".

I've been diligent in collecting resources for crafting as I progress through the missions trying to get a jump-start on crafting, so naturally as soon as I reached Centurion (10) I started focusing on DOFF missions that rewarded crafting materials. This seemed like a logical process, and I feel it's important to draw attention to this, as it might have been missed by testers who only use imported characters on tribble.

Did you push the character to 15? If you do and the button is no longer grey, you will have confirmed your theory.

I'm currently running a mission that should bring me to Centurion (15). I'll check that once I'm at the proper level.

*Updated -Problem still persists on all mission longer than 45 minuets. See below
Now at Centurion (15) and everything seems to be working fine. Limited number of Science officers but at least I can run Science and exploration missions with the ones I have.

It is now apparent that most if not all Science and exploration missions that reward crafting materials will be gray'd out between levels 10 - 15. Confirmation would be good.

Update... Things are not fine. turns out only missions that are not gray/unclickable are the 45 min duration ones. All other Science and Exploration missions that award crafting materials remain Gray. I Have tried everything I can think of, even imported a slew of DOFFS to try out.

This problem is not affecting my characters imported from holodeck, only the characters created on Tribble server. Anyone else here made a new character on Tribble for testing recently that can help confirm this?

Same annoying bug,

I don't think this is really time or lvl related, I'm level 36 Fed. now, and before 9.5 I could always do ALL assignments since I received my very first Doffs (at least missions that did not require officers or mats I didn't have)

I think it is a bug, I can't start many Science and other missions for no apparent reason as well, just because Begin button is gray...
But I remember that once I have tried to just close the window, open it again, and what? Suddenly I COULD start it.

Not to mention how horrible this new Duty Officer window is (different topic), now I see it is also full of annoying bugs! :mad:
