I'm stumped. I mean this change kind of like heralds that to happen you know? That would add a lot of consistency to the ship interiors and fall in line with content of the blog (or at least its tone).

But Cryptic is Cryptic, so ...

    Anyone tested it on Tribble?

Just been on Tribble to check, all starship personnel are now wearing Odyssey standard uniforms :D

EDIT: However, everyone seems to be an officer, not an enlisted crewman in sight :(

To be fair, on the shows the only enlisted crewman in all of Starfleet is Chief O'Brien, and that was after he was a Lieutenant :V

why create a new thread about this question?
    Odyssey Unlocked

While we have recently completed the task of updating all of the Starfleet characters to use the Odyssey uniform, players can still choose how they wish their captains and bridge officers to be dressed. Given this choice, we knew that some of you would want to match the new Starfleet standard, and to make that easier with Season 9.5 we are making changes to how players access the Odyssey uniform. When season 9.5 launches:

The Odyssey uniform will be freely available to all Federation characters.
The pieces included are the Odyssey short jacket, pants, shoes and the previously unreleased Odyssey belt.
The Odyssey uniform will be the default uniform for all new Federation characters and Bridge Officers.
Two new Odyssey uniform sets will be sold by the Federation Fleet tailor at the same stage in Fleet progression as the original Odyssey uniforms. The "Odyssey Tactical" and the "Odyssey Dress" uniform. Each new set will be available at half the price of the original Odyssey unlock.
If you have previously purchased the “Odyssey Basics” unlock from your fleet’s tailor, you will find these options are free of charge at your fleet tailor.
Klingon officers who have reached Rank 4 of their Marauding CXP status and claimed their enemy faction BOff from DS9, will be able to outfit their Starfleet faction Bridge-Officer in the Odyssey uniform.
Romulans allied with Starfleet & the Federation can purchase Bridge-Officer Only versions of any of the above new Costume Unlocks for a lesser price from their fleet stores.
These costumes can only be used on Starfleet Bridge Officers.

then check the bottom of the dev blog here for duty officers.
    T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

The Devs said they weren't standardising the KDF uniforms, as the Klingons aren't so hung up on organised military attire (paraphrasing).

They still referred to him as Chief when he had LT pips so I would guess it was a uniform gaff by the show. (TNG the Wounded)

No it was a retcon. O'Brien was a Lieutenant in TNG and had the pips, he even talked about being the USS Rutledge's tactical officer under Captain Maxwell in 'The Wounded', but in DS9 he was changed to a chief petty officer because the writers wanted the whole enlisted man dynamic to his character.

It is similar to how the trill makeup was retconned into the kriosian makeup we see Famke Jansen wear in 'The Perfect Mate' because they put Terry Farrel in the Odan makeup and realised it was hideous.

These are just some of the examples why I think just because it's canon doesn't mean it makes sense :V

Yeah they retconned his rank early into TNG (Family according to Ronald Moore) but he carried on wearing LT and the hollow Ensign pips until like season 4 of DS9.

The whole thing is a mess and a half though, there is quite a big section about it on O'Brian's memory Alpha page.

To be fair, Roddenberry's "no enlisted crewmen in Starfleet" idea didn't really surface until the TNG era (and was pretty quickly discarded).

The TOS/TMP eras had plenty of enlisted crewmen.

Edit: The list I posted actually has just as many TNG examples, but the TWOK uniforms were the last set of uniforms to have a (nearly) fully fleshed-out rank insignia system for enlisted crew.
You're right. The work here is very important.

Not true. On numerous occasions an Officer is observed calling a member of the crew 'crewman' which is considered the lowest form of enlisted rank. And Kirk had pretty little blondes called Yeoman fetch him datapads all the time.

Everyone being an officer would never have worked anyway, especially how someone gets into the academy in TNG, they would never have enough crew to fill up all those ships.
