There is no super secret exploration revamp coming.
So what is available in Expansion 2? Since obviously you must have some contact in Cryptic that told you this or you have a time machine and know when STO will close for good. We can only give our opinion about whether we believe that it is coming or isn't coming. All any of us can say with certainty is what was in this game and what is in this game.
Cryptic has always been Cryptic about what is coming. After all, we had no clue about Season 9.5 removing Exploration Clusters or Crafting Revamp until last month. If there is an Exploration Revamp, then we will most likely won't hear about it until about a couple of months before it goes live.
They will shut down STO and transfer us to the new Swordsman game.

Nothing new about "Swordsman". It was released to the Chinese MMO market in 2010. The 2014 version the U.S. and other Western MMO market countries are getting is just a translated port of the game. Hell, it still has all the Mandarin voice overs in the cut scenes; which they aren't going to redo in English as the don't feel they can 'recapture' teh flavor of the original VO (Read: It's just a cheap translation port that PWE doesn't want to waste money on because they're not sure if the game will attract or retain enough players to be profitable in the Western MMO market.)

If Expansion 2 is supposed to be bigger than the previous one, then it needs a lot more than this.
