Buying a fleet starship

jackgordon1jackgordon1 Member Posts: 0 Arc User
Greetings all, I recently accumulated 200,000 FC on my lvl 50 fed toon, I was hoping to purchase an Aquarius destroyer but my fleet doesn't have the required shipyard level, quite far of it in fact.

I don't have the energy credits to purchase a Tier 5 ship from a different fleet, as I only have a meager 3 million energy credits and most fleets are charging around the 20-30mil EC zone.

What prices should I expect to have to pay to buy a tier 4 ship from a different fleet? Would I need to dump Marks and dilithium?

All replies welcome, thanks

EDIT: I'm more than happy to stay and contribute to a fleet for a while if that's what it takes to buy a ship, think of it as washing the dishes to pay for the bill at a restaurant.

Actually if you were to ask about this in NoP Public Service (bit.ly/nop-public-service if you want to read up on the channel) you should eventually get access to the shipyard for free if there's anyone around doing Fed invites. Ship invites are a bit harder to come by than for gear due to having to join the fleet to buy, but they do happen and no-one should be charging you anything in NoPPS.

alethkiraen is correct. Head on over to the NoP Service Thread, join the channel and ask around. The only people who'd likely be asking for energy credits in exchange for access are greedy people still trying to hold a fleet together. There are however multiple fleets out there who should happily fulfill your request. :)

Don't waste your money on the Aquarius though.

Thanks man, joined the channel, I'm going to ask around to see if there's any fleets willing to let me buy from them, it looks great so far!

Hmm, I do like escorts. I was considering the odyssey too

There are better Escorts. Might as well grab the Fleet Patrol Escort if you can? You'll only be short of the Tempest Skin and a Console (otherwise found in the C-Store).

Failing that (I notice you mention you've got 200,000 Fleet Credits, not 20,000 Fleet Credits and Ship Modules) you'd likely be better off with the Escort Retrofit (Sabre) or the Tactical Escort Retrofit (Defiant).

The standard Odyssey (the one you can claim for 200,000 Fleet Credits) isn't worth it IMO. It's lacking somewhat.
