Rebreathers

This should be universal for KDF, Romulans and even Federation. Star Trek Universe is set in Earths future, the first Rebreather was tested in 1879. Eva Suites obviously are available to all factions.

However just for a Toxic environment you need to take a full Eva suite, this is designed for Space not for toxic air. Do we see fireman putting on a great big Eva Suite no they have a modern Rebreather and an oxygen tank on their back.

Romulans receive a handy rebreather and this is where it gets annoying. You have to get five full Eva Suites for the final Romulan Story line to just receive your reward of Dilithium Marks and EC.

A Thread suggestion was made a year ago about giving all factions access to this. And I believe it's High time this was made available.

Here is how it is atm.
Pro's
1.Romulan's completing this do not have to put on a Eva Suite and nerf their resistance for this mission.
2. Romulans get this absolutely Free!


Con's
1. KDF and Fed have to buy an Eva Suite to complete this mission.
2. Eva Suite nerf's federation and KDf resistance's.

These devices are in our current knowledge range, why would they not be available in Star treks Future.

    Con: Serves the same purpose as an EV suit from a game mechanic standpoint, but takes up another space in your inventory/device list.

    Toxic atmosphere may not only be unbreathable, but also physically dangerous, therefore EV suits... Try walking around in a sodium or sulphur rich atmo in just a re-breather. Any atmo devoid of oxys (O2, CO2, etc.) will not be accessible to re-breathers, due to the chem reaction needed. Blah, blah, blah...

    Just a couple of possibilities to consider.


    As for the Rom re-breathers, this should change to EV suits for balance.

    Fun bit of pointless trivia with this. Rebreathers obviously don't protect you in demon-class environments that kill you with burning. However they'll keep you safe in the T5 New Romulus mission where Tholians walk around comfortably without EV suits because that environment just gasses you to death.

    Considered this, then thought that the Tholian carapace would offer them the env protection that we'd gain from the EV suit. The Tholians need temps above 200c and are operating without env protection, so I speculate that the high temperature would require the EV suits and that Romulans must have asbestos underwear ;)
