    Very cool, thanks.

Have to admit, I cringed every time you said "better boff layout than the Gal X". You aren't wrong, but I still don't understand their decision to make a party boat better than a Federation built cruiser. Meh.

Also I have to ask. I noticed that you have it set up to spam your cruiser commands every 5 seconds. Is there a reason for that? Once you turn them on, they're always on. Seems unnecessary.

    .

Because the lead designer of the game is not allowed to troll the players in social media so this is how he gets his jollies my making players buy or grind what they don't really want..

That is something that I've noticed tends to be lost on a lot of people.
It's not my fault if you feel trolled by my Disco ball... Sorry'boutit.

This ship looks like it could be set up as a very fast moving tank, or used to provide support anywhere it's needed at short notice with its high turn rate.
Obviously can be used for a2b builds but that's a whole lot of eng console slots there! Pack it with armour and it could be unkillable.

LOL at it being better than a Galaxy X, Starfleet should just get the Risians to build their cruisers and fire everyone at Utopia Planitia!

What are the customisation options like by the way?

Unfortunantly thus ship is better then the Galaxy X. Why did the made the stats of this cruiser better thex the Galaxy X, well that is simple, the summer is long and if a ship have very good stats like this one, people will grind for it and play the "content".

Regarding the cruiser commands one of them is on my keybind so that's the spam.

Thank you for the review, i am new to the game and i was just planning to give up on the grinding for this ship but after your review i am going to be persistent.

How did you get it so fast?

The closest thing I can describe the Risian Cruiser in short order is that it's a sort of Fleet Excelsior with more flexible BOFF stations, but wants to move around like a Klingon Battlecruiser.

He has the Solanae Space Set equipped, which has a Hyper-Impulse Engine. By default, his Engine Power sits at about 50. With A2B going, his Engine Power skyrockets. Whatever build you fly, if you have good Engine Power of 75 or higher, Hyper-Impulse Engines make all other engine types look laughable. This performance in movement can be seen with every ship type (except terribly slow ships like Carriers will feel it a lot less), and gets amplified even more on the most nimble Cruisers (esp. KDF Battlecruisers) and Escorts. Most esp. so with the nimble ships that usually push +Eng Power for their Subsystem Power bonus. They're slanted towards Engines to begin with.

I have the Risian Cruiser fitted with 2 different toons, 1 Fed TAC, 1 KDF TAC. Both Non-A2B. I keep at the bare minimum 75 Engine Power. On one I've toyed with a DOFFed A2D to go with it, and it gets ridiculous. The ship zips around very nicely, gets you to safety quickly, gets you to optimal firing points and ranges efficiently. You are not wasting time wallowing around like you would in a Failaxy, Failaxy-X.

The good news is that you don't have to. Once you fully grind out the ship on one character, you unlock an account wide discount for any other characters you have. The discount is significant too, only 40 pearls to pick up the ships on an alt. So just grind it up on one character and then use the account discount for the rest.

I still can not understand how that this ship has good combat statistics , as can be better than a dreadnought . I was expecting something like 3/3 weapons slots , a very strong defensive ability - like confuse or stun , f.e. Cmdr. eng and lt.cmdr . science , a bank and exchange on the deck or something more cheerful . Just do not get those three people in Cryptic who make the parameters of the ships, either randomly or they do not play the game at all .

Cryptic , next time I want a ship that will look like a sailing-boat and have numbers as avenger .

Yeah, i started the corvette on one toon and the cruiser on another. Once they are finished, the horde will visit risa to get 80 pearls each to get all the goodies! :D

Buying Pearl packages with Lobi? "Excess" Pearls stored from last year's Festival?

Hell, there were people linking the box the ship comes in in chat 5 minutes after this year's event went live.

I rail Cryptic a lot, but this is actually a very, VERY generous move on their part.

It doesn't have a hangar bay, no phaser lance, no saucer separation and no cloaking ability.
So I don't think it's better. Just different.

I can understand the concern for the regular Galaxy Retrofit better.

I can understand the concern for the regular Galaxy Retrofit better.

It has a LtCdr TAC station which does more for offense than the 4 TAC Consoles on a Gal-X with Lt/Ens TAC station. The TAC station gives far more options for defense and offense than any pitiful variant of the Galaxy.

More than enough ENG capability yet still friendly to A2B if you so choose.

Moves way, way, WAYYYY better than any variant of the Failaxy and thus gets where you need it a lot more smoothly, efficiently, with no heartache no dumb gimmick consoles necessary.

It does not rely on a gimmick attack that goes into a 3 minute cooldown.

It does not rely on lackluster consoles to get it moving to at least molasses in winter levels.

It does not rely on a half-hearted, lame attempt of a single hangar to hide its flaws.

In short, the Risian Cruiser is a better TAC Cruiser, better defensive Cruiser, better moving Cruiser, better everything than any variant of the Failaxy line. It does not need gimmicks or special consoles to make playing it bearable.

    Unlike the Failaxies.

    Love Schack :D

The ship is UGLY as sin, but it does have a BO great layout and decent console setup.

Why would you keybind a cruiser command, I am going to guess you are aware once a command is turned on, it stays active?

By spamming a cruiser command, it is simply turning it on/off/on continuously.

Otherwise thnx for the video, as I see quite a few from you.

Also got to ask what nationality are you, as I cannot place your accent.

And, holy moly does that ship got some HUGE engines, on the back of it.

    Looking forward to more. :)

Man, there's quite a bit of Galaxy fans making the comment that this Luxury Cruiser is a better fighting vessel than the Galaxy-class / Galaxy-X in STO. I can't say I blame them, and it seems quite strange for it to be like this despite the recent Galaxy "revamp."

To add insult to injury, the better ship is "FREE." I too would be upset if I had owned the Galaxy CStore package. Oh wait, I do! except I hardly ever use that ship. However; I feel for those who love that ship, Cryptic pooped on a iconic TNG vessel and never thought of cleaning it up.

It's a slap in the face for people who bought Galaxy X but that is cryptic for you.

As I said it looks like a steamboat with warp nacelles attached to it! :)

while i actually agree with you i'd like to go bit more with arguments.
It has a LtCdr TAC station which does more for offense than the 4 TAC Consoles on a Gal-X with Lt/Ens TAC station. The TAC station gives far more options for defense and offense than any pitiful variant of the Galaxy.
...the most valuable of them would be omega maneuvers, which would compensate a lot the slow speed an turn of gal-x. and also a "must have" skill with new undine content.
More than enough ENG capability yet still friendly to A2B if you so choose.
    ... unlike engineering overburden galaxy/-x
Moves way, way, WAYYYY better than any variant of the Failaxy and thus gets where you need it a lot more smoothly, efficiently, with no heartache no dumb gimmick consoles necessary.
... which are 3 consoles in total. where scimitar get something useful (even if questionable) gal-x get the separation as the only way to smack the whale a spank.
It does not rely on a gimmick attack that goes into a 3 minute cooldown.
... which is limited to worst damage type currently.
It does not rely on lackluster consoles to get it moving to at least molasses in winter levels.
... which are hardly noticeable anyway.
It does not rely on a half-hearted, lame attempt of a single hangar to hide its flaws.
... as if any pets can win against scimitar drones. as for me gal-x should get aquarius frigates exclusive.
In short, the Risian Cruiser is a better TAC Cruiser, better defensive Cruiser, better moving Cruiser, better everything than any variant of the Failaxy line. It does not need gimmicks or special consoles to make playing it bearable.
    Unlike the Failaxies.
    ... and thats for sure.
